    Ugh

Was told a table would be an hour and a half and then as we were walking out was told we could be seated sooner? Sangria was watered down. Sirloin tasted like rare meat, chimichrui sauce had no flavor, fried shrimp appetizer tasted like airline food. It's a beautiful space with gorgeous waitresses and bartenders but the truth of the matter is if you think this food is even passable than you've never been to quality Latin American restaurant. This is bottom of the barrel, they should scrap the food and turn the space into just a bar.

    Tasty, but lacks sophistication

The food is tasty and the space is appealing, but the service lacks sophistication. Hostesses are rude and inattentive. Individuals are ignored when the walk in the door. We had a nice waiter, but perhaps he was inexperienced. We finished our meal, had not finished our bottle of wine when he came over check in hand to ask if we wanted to move to a private area (meaning up front by the bar area), we asked if he needed the table he said no and asked if we wanted anything else. Told him we were considering desert, but needed a few more minutes. We ultimately ordered dessert after five minutes. Desert came and we barely finished when he came over with the check again and placed it on the table. We inquired whether if we had asked for the check because we had not ordered coffee yet. Overall it is a nice space, but it is loud and still needs to learn a bit more about customer service. Unfortunately, we will not return.

Try it on a Friday night!

I've been to Sofrito's a few times, but never on a Friday night. Wow, what a difference!!! The place was jumping. We had late dinner reservations and when we walked in we were almost sad that we didn't come just to have drinks by the bar instead and listen to the music while mingling with the crowd. It was very, very lively, and once we were seated it was a different vibe as there was a great live band playing in the front of the dining room. Have a few cocotini's and beef empanadas before proceeding to your entree, you won't regret it! ENJOY.

    Very good food, service issues

We were a group of 9. The food was excellent. Great ropa vieja. Ok appetiziers. However, the service was very bad. The waiters were rude and the restaurant was not very accomodating. Reasonable priced. If you are going to have mojitos, have the sofrito mojito.

Great food, nice place, poor service

The hostess was not friendly or welcoming. She made me feel guilty for not having a reservation on a Tuesday night. My waiter seemed confused and was not really willing to explain the menu items thoroughly, just answered with yes and no questions. I have worked in the restaurant business and it is not okay to just say no to a guest, you should always offer alternatives and options. Besides that, the food was amazing, and very fairly priced. I would recommend reservations and hoping that you don't get the server I got.

    Que Rico!

I was there for the first time on Friday and it was amazing! The people, drinks, service, DJ and food were so well put together. The prices are awesome, our waiter was great. I recommend The tostones montaditos with sauteed steak, and shrimp. The pernil was amazing, and so where the pork chops, make sure you try the weird appetizers, like the clams in cilantro.
