    Great place

I went to Sofrito for the first time last Friday night with my girlfriends and had the greatest time, didn't make any reservations so we had to wait a little while, about 30 minutes or so. But we kept ourselves busy at one of the nicest bars I have ever seen and the drinks were great ,we had one of the nicest bartenders serving us Angela who made us feel right at home, keep up the good work girlfriend . We also met the owner JR Morales who was just as nice as the bartender. You would never get the impression that he was an owner because he treated us as if we were family which is not something you see often from many restaurant owners. We got seated shortly there after and had a very nice server named Kevin who made the whole experience unbelievable . The skirt steak and roast pork speak for itself, to die for! Can't say enough about this place great job.

    WAITING....

Food is incredible and affordable! The service is hit or miss. The worst part about this place is waiting for a table. Whether or not you have a reservation, be prepared to wait anywhere from 25 minutes to an hour and a half. My theory is that they want you to spend at the bar to make up for the affordable entrees. In the end, I think the long wait will keep me from returning.

    Good Food......Great Atmosphere

The atmosphere was great! It was spacious....I didn't feel like I was sitting on top of another couple. I have to agree that it was pretty loud. I think I could've had a better conversation emailing my boyfriend than talking to him at the dinner table. The food was good.....really big portions....I think it could've been a bit more spicy, but overall good. If they could turn down the music a notch or two this place would be superb! Lastly, it's cheap! For two of us it was $60! You can't beat that in NYC.

    Great!!!!

My family and I spent Mother's Day; the wait was long, but it was Mother's Day no reservations; the food was Excellent, the portions, Big; and the service, (again it was Mother's Day), was not bad. The prices are great, and we found on street parking.

    Tasty, Plenty, but noisy

The appetizers were so much that we thought our entrees were brought out accidently. We found the food plentyful, except my Salmon w/fried Yuca. There was WAY more Yuca fries than Salmon. In comparison the Salmon was too small. Our only complaint was the Tres Leches cake for dessert. Way too moist.

    My dining Experince....

Well when we first walked in we had to jiggle our keys to the three girls in the front talking away so they could pay attention to us. We didn't have reservations so she said let me see if I can find something. She quickly came back and sat us down. To my surprise there were plenty of tables open throughout the night. The service was lousy. I had to ask after 6 minutes for plates so we could eat the food that they brought to our table. We also ate our appetizers with no dishes underneath us. No one came to our table to see if we needed anything. The food was ok. I've had better. Will I go there again? I will try again maybe it was fluke. But I wouldn't recommend it to any of my friends not just yet.
