    Great food, poor service

My friend made reservations here for her birthday. Not only did we have to wait for 2 hours (even with reservations), the hostess was rude because 2 of our friends were late. They didn't want to seat us! While waiting, at the bar I had to call the bartender over so I could pay her after she brought me my drink. On top of all of this, they wanted to charge us to share a plate after all the grief they had put us through. We called over the manager, and he tried to slick talk us into why we should pay to share a plate after the wait, bad service and rude hostess. The food was delicious when we finally got to eat, and the atmosphere was nice, though hectic. These people have good food, but need to take some lessons on how to run a restaurant because they're in the SERVICE industry. The point is to make your customers happy, not miserable over bad service.

    Excellent

Excellent food, and an even better atmosphere. Live music and great service, what more can you ask for. And as far as waiting there this thing called reservations, they work pretty well ppl. And if you do have to wait a bit, they have a great bar and lounge like area to sit in, common...

    It's not worth the wait!

I was there with my friends last friday. We waited for more than 2 hrs.! What's worse? We're given the pager, but we're not called to seat 'coz the receptionist didn't write our name on the list! Seriously! After all the wait, we're so hungry, we could have left but we waited that long already! The food is really good but the Sangria is tasteless! And we were rushed to vacate the table after the meal for the other patrons waiting. Come on, we waited more than 2 hrs and we have to eat and run?...We swore never to go back to that place ...ever..again!

Went from bad to good to horrid.

I made reservations here for a party of 9 for a Graduation dinner. BAD: Although the majority of the party arrived on time, (one person was parking the car), they gave our table away and he had to wait and hour and a half to be seated. GOOD: Once we were seated and ordered our food came pretty fast and it tasted delicious. HORRID: As soon as the last dessert plate was collected, a manager came over and asked us to leave our table. Once we left and were standing outside trying to determine our next destination, we were then asked to leave the front of the restaurant. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this restaurant.

    Salt Galore!

This was my first visit to this popular restaurant and everything started out fine. The wait was about 15-20 minutes for our table, which isn't bad. We had drinks at the bar and the service and atmosphere were excellent. When seated, my party and I decided to try the sampler appetizer. Although, the fried pork was salty, the r est of the appetizer was fine Breaded shrimp, plantains, etc. For my main course, I opted for the Ropa Vieja and was somewhat dissapointed because it was very salty and soggy. I'm used to it being crispy. The rice and beans were also salty. Maybe it was this dish, because my friend seemed to enjoy his Paella with no complaints, Do not order this if you have high blood pressure as it will sour, Everything else, including my beautiful waitress, was perfect.

    Long Wait just ruins it

First of all, you cannot make reservations! This is why the wait is so long. Second, do not go with a crowd, you will wait even longer. My boyfriend and I were fortunate enough that a kind acouple let us have their spot, so we waited only 45 minutes. The food was ok. The arroz con gandules could've been better...and the place doesn't have bacardi...wierd being a PUERTO RICAN restaurant. The bar area is not that spacious and you even have a lot of people waiting outside.. basically the wait makes this place NOT worth it.
