SoCo

This place has a chance to dominate but always comes up with a failing grade with me and my friends. I made reservations on 3 different occasions and my wait time at best was still a hour and half . With me having no more than 3 guest me included. Waited to be seated waited at least another 15-20 minutes for a server to attend to my table then wait for appetizer to come b4 my drinks came so sad to believe . But I wanted to get up and leave every time but the atmosphere is so live that it captivates you but the aggravating part is after you get your food you will not see your server again unless you ask another server to tell your server you need assistance. They made me wait 30 mins to pay the bill. This process is well annoying. The menu has variety but the food is a hit or miss

If you are used to REAL southern food, then this is not the place for you. The mac and cheese is sub par!!

Seriously, these "rave reviews" must be from our ppl who are more into shnazzy atmosphere than quality, quantity, and authenticity of the food on menu. this was NOT soul food.... The best tasting thing we had was the Asian BBQ sauce. The waiter barely came over when it was only half full, but once he saw the tip I was leaving regardless, THEN he popped up 2x in 5 mins when we only saw him 2x for 45 mins prior. We had to keep asking him for basic things and he'd forget. OK- The food was just ok..... I ordered the mac'n'cheese like reviewers below said and I was like "Is this it?". I also had the pecan crusted pork.... Some dark brown sauce was on the yams like Mexican mole.... TOTALLY confused at their method of "soul fusion"... SMH.... I won't be returning, especially when The Fice Spot is only 2 blocks down and serves ridiculously DELISH Soul food.... REAL Soul food!!

Great Mac n cheese. I had pork chops & my boyfriend had barbeque chicken both were tasty. Very jazzy I am definitely going back.

I had the lobster/shrimp with grits...awesome very well prepared. Our waitress was very friendly and new the menu....she had us all laughing and smiling.....will def eat there a gain

I had made a reservation through Open Table for 6. When I got to the restaurant early, I told the hostess we would only be 5. She was so nice and invited me to sit at the bar or in the waiting area. We were seated promptly and greeted by our server who was wonderful with our table. My friends had chicken and waffles, chicken wings, mac and cheese, steak and salmon. Everyone was satisfied with what s/he ordered and all agreed we would return. Thanks SoCo!

We had a nice brunch at Soco. The omelets were well done and tasty, the sweet potato hash was good, the cheese grits were creamy, and the bacon was crispy. There were several average items including slightly overcooked French toast, average coffee, and weak orange juice that we were told was fresh squeezed. The service was attentive without being annoying and the atmosphere was energetic, fun, and casual - perfect for Sunday brunch. Overall a good time and we plan to have dinner at SoCo in the near future.
