We were 5 Women from NJ going out to celebrate friend's Birthday on a cold Sunday evening in February! As we explored all of the restaurants on 46th st, one of the waiters on his day off was outside chatting and told us this restaurant had Great food. After reading every menu on 46th st., we decided to go back to SMYRNA, where we had wonderful dinners and a taste of Turkish Hospitality! The waiters were wonderful, they catered to all of our needs, suggested wonderful dishes as we were not familiar with Turkish cuisine, and just made us feel special. When we were about to order dessert, they came out with a dessert and candles and we all sang Happy Birthday! It was a Great evening and a super way to celebrate our friend's birthday! I would reccomend this restaurant and can't wait to go back!

Nice turkish cusine been there already 3 times ,I hope they get their liquor license soon.

Four of us dined here on a Thursday night before the theater. The food is fresh and delicious, nice atmosphere, good service and very welcoming staff. And it's quiet enough for conversation. The very best of the several Manhattan Turkish restaurants we have tried.

I was looking on Menupages for a convenient restaurant in the Theatre District to take an out of town guest and some local friends before a show. The reviews for Smyrna caught my attention and I love Turkish food so decided to give it a try. There were six of us, three who are fans of Turkish food, three were not familiar with the dishes. We all enjoyed the food we ordered, the atmosphere was relaxing and the staff was attentive. We could not have asked for a better experience. I am going back tomorrow, with all the choices we have in NYC, that says it all.

I love Turkish food so was really excited to see this place open up on my block. It's become my new go-to for ordering dinner in - healthy & delicious food! The servers are always super friendly on the phone -- brings back good memories of the lovely people I've met visiting Turkey. I look forward to going in to dine with my boyfriend who also loves Turkish food. Keep it up!

My mother comes into town twice a year for work and always stays in Midtown. I have pretty much exhausted my restaurant list so I happened upon Smyrna last week and decided to give it a try. I have lived in New York for almost 8 years and have a pretty high standard when it comes to food. In addition, I have a gluten and dairy allergy so I am always impressed when waiters are aware of these allergies and are considerate when it comes to choosing dishes. Not only did our waiter understand my dietary issues, but he came back and told me that the lamb dish had dairy in it and recommended a similar dish that would be fine for my allergy. That aside, the food and service was incredible. We ordered hummus, grape leaves and a stuffed eggplant dish that were all divine. The ground lamb was tasty and my mom ordered the seabass which she said came close to the one she had at Babbo a few years ago. The service was fast and friendly. They don't have their liquor license yet but I think you can BYOB for the meantime. I would go back in a heartbeat, and it's perfect for a pre-theater meal.

This is an excellent restaurant. The food is the best Mediterrean food I have had. It's spotless, great value, and the service is the best. In a four day visit to New York, we ate there twice. We enjoyed it that much. Do yourself a favor and give them a try, you won't be disappointed.
