Great Date Place or Night out w/Friends

My friends and I love coming in for dinner. Great place to catch up and chill out with some cocktails or a bottle of wine. Last weekend I suggested my date take me here in the end he said it was a great suggestions. We finished off our meal with dessert Scandinavian Waffles delicious!

    Amazing Brunch!!

I really loved the brunch here. My boyfriend and I came early but we were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff. The place is small and cosy and the food was really really good...My boyfriend and I are sure to come back. It's a little pricey though, but was definitely worth it.

    Good food, bad waiter

I had brunch there today with my friend. We both ordered the prix fixe brunch special. The food was great - I had the cold water shrimp open face sandwich and my friend had some baked eggs with vegetables. The restaurant is cute and cozy, although the tables were a bit too small and our table was wobbly. He tried to charge us extra for some substitutions on the prix fixe, even though we overheard another waiter at a neighboring table say to his customers that there was no extra charge for the substitutions. For example, my friend wanted just a plain orange juice instead of a mimosa with his brunch, and our waiter said that there would be a 1 dollar surcharge since orange juice wasn't on the prix fixe. But if he had it with champagne there would be no charge? That doesn't make any sense at all. We cleared it up with the other waiter, but our own waiter was not apologetic at all, and just stormed off when we asked to speak to the manager. Overall, it's too bad that the good food was marred by one nasty waiter. Maybe I'll visit the West Village location next time.

    Great place

I loved this place. The food is so good and the waiters are so nice. It's really pretty too, especially if you sit outside on the little cobblestone street.

Can't beat it with a fjord

I've had nothing but excellent service for brunch, though I've never visited in person other times. But really, what's menupages for if not delivery? Restaurants with great food and overworked waitstaff or too few tables are *meant* for just what you should be doing right now: looking at a menu online, calling up, and getting delivery. And if you have a yen for lingonberries delivered to your door, you should be calling Smorgas Chef right now.

    Not recommended for dinner

I had lunch here about six months ago and it was pretty good. The food was nicely prepared and the service was good. I had dinner here tonight and it was a not as good. Service was poor. We waited almost an hour for our entrees and when they were delivered the waitress had put in the wrong order for my food. So, my companion ate while I waited another half hour for my dinner. The potato side dish was cold so I assume they didn't defrost or microwave it properly. Anyway, dinner for two was $80 with tip.

    Lunch with friends

I had lunch with two friends here and thought the sandwich platters that come with mashed potatoes and a side salad was a good value. It was a bit pricey, but the meatball sandwich was quite good and extremely filling. I would definitely go back here for lunch again.
