    Oh the good ol' days

So I've been living in the slope for over 30 years. Not what it used to be and definetly not the "great nabe" that everyone calls it. But this is another story for some other site. Smiling Pizza is a part of my upbringing, get out from school and grab a slice while going home. Grab a pie with some friends and head over to the park for some summer fun. Oh the times and taste have changed. This joint is not what it used to be, the taste you get from the first slice "warm it up but not too hot" has disappeared. Prepaid pies racked up and waiting to be heated has made them lose the flavor and texture. The crust is a bit too big for a slice and in many cases overpowers the cheese and sauce. Maybe taste changes with the "nabes" as it's happened with Park Slope. That being said I still occasionally grab a slice to remember the good ol' days. Have had a lot better pizza.

Good Heros but not so good pizza

smiling pizza makes pizza in the morning and stacks them. so the reason y its not that good is because its not fresh. if by some chance u get a fresh pie its not that bad but i love there heros and ravioli..

    Another Subpar Pizza Place

I'm sorry but the pizza is just doesn't have any flavor. It's really sad.

    Must Pick Up!

Make sure you go pick up your slice if you dont want it under-cooked. But I have to say if you grab a slice in the restaurant it is one of the best in New York!

    Good for cheese

Just moved to Park Slope and tried this place because it was so close. The cheese pizza is excellent and super cheap but if you want anything more elaborate than that I'd look elsewhere.

    Canned Mushrooms

Many people I know think very highly of Smiling Pizza. However, I have often found the crust on the pies to be on the soggy side. And they use canned mushrooms instead of fresh mushrooms. I love pizza. This pizza is a nice slice of pizza. But it's not perfect.
