    S'Mac is great!

I went there for the first time this week and loved it! I had the goat cheese dish, and it was great! My friends and I had plenty of cheese in our dishes; hopefully they have addressed earlier complaints. I would definitely recommend trying this out! Great decor, great service, really nice owners, and GREAT MAC AND CHEESE!

    Subpar

Subpar mac and cheese. Hardly any cheese and no taste, needed to add salt to mine. Next time I want mac and cheese I will make it from a box.

    Mac attack

I went for the first time on a rainy tuesday at 1pm and it was packed! I didnt want to be to excited because mac and cheese is one of my favs and I didnt want to be let down. I ordered the 4 cheese with bacon and it was awesome! I saw the reviews about not having enough cheese but it seems like they fixed that problem since it was oozing off the spoon. The only thing i would change is to use a thinner style of bacon. I will be back for sure.

    Great addition to the neighborhood

I tried to go there on Friday, around 8 pm, but it was crowded; no seats available. Tried again on Saturday night around 11 pm, with success. Ordered All American, which was just okay. Definitely not enough cheese. The only problem was the lack of cheese. I found the portion size to be quite generous. I loved the cast iron where they were served. Also ordered the Mozzarella, and that was great. I loved it; alot better than the All American. Will go again to try some of the others. Hopefully, they'll be just as good as the Mozzarella. The highlight was talking to Sarita, and hearing about the idea behind the restaurant. She was very, very friendly. Only downsides were lack of cheese, and that the Moz. dish was lukewarm.

    One of the City's Best!

I have been to s'mac three times since the day it opened. As a self proclaimed macaroni and cheese connoisseur, I was quite eager to try the City's only all-mac'n cheese restaurant. My first two visits left something to be desired - all of the different types I tried were OK, but didn't knock my socks off. I went again recently (about a month and a half since I had been before) and this time, the dishes had been upgraded significantly! Very high quality, amazing "cheesiness" and great flavor to all of the dishes I tried again (Gruyere, All American and Cajun). Add in the ample portions to the revamped food and this is instantly one of my favorite macaroni and cheese spots in the city.

    Not recommended

I was disappointed with the food at S'mac. I live just a few blocks away and was really looking forward to eating there often. I have been three different times, ordering three different dishes and walking away disappointed 3 times. Such a great idea and the service/ people are great...but the food is not cheesy at all and has very little flavor. If they would just add actual cheese to the dishes it would be great. I won't bother going back. Three strikes...you're out.

    Maca-ruined and cheese

S’MAC is a great idea – a place where you can just get a good plate of mac ‘n cheese. I have been waiting for a place with macaroni and cheese as the major meal to come around for a while. Unfortunately this is not the place. S’MAC has a great variety of mac ‘n cheese and the prices are reasonable for the nice portions they serve. If you want a good serving of mac ‘n cheese in several flavors, S’MAC will fit the bill perfectly. I found all the varieties I tasted to be too liquid – none stuck together the way a good homemade one really does – even Kraft is gooier if you use less milk. The regular American was not extremely flavorful and sadly just a cut above the kind you’d find behind the hot counter at a deli or salad bar with a powdery texture in the sauce. I would have to go with the Kraft regular mac ‘n cheese box with the powder, over the one at S’MAC, though I’d keep it in the fridge for a day and then heat it up for a great texture. Gruyere and mozzarella were about the same and the gruyere should have been sharper like a good Swiss gruyere is, while the mozzarella should have been more garlicky and cheesy stringy like a good lasagna or nice pizza. For novelty this is a fine QUICK stop if you are in the neighborhood.
