  • Slice, The Perfect Food

    Double O...

...as in overrated and overpriced. I was very much looking forward to Slice's opening in the neighborhood. I realize that it's only been open for a little while so I'll cut them some slack on the service, especially since the waitress was so nice. However, it made it kind of difficult to order because the wait staff not well-versed in with the menu. The place was completely chaotic and although the service will hopefully improve, the set-up itself is not conducive to having a relaxin meal. Why they would put a BAR in this tiny place was beyond us!! It made it difficult to navigate and I highly doubt THAT will get any better! The bar area was not even highly occupied. As for the food....eh. It was good but not great. Certainly not worth the inflated prices. I didn't expect this to be a "bang for your buck" place but didn't expect it to be that outrageous. Maybe a way for them to get their price point down would be to replace the thick snazzy cardboard boxes with something a little more economical and eco-friendly. Sure, recycling is fabulous but the best thing would be to use less in the first place! I really had high hopes for this place. Maybe it will do well with the tourists but I doubt the appeal will endure with the long time local residents.
