Slice, The Perfect Food

I was hesitant to try Slice after reading some of the reviews below, but I'm glad I did. My experience was with delivery, so I don't know about the ambiance. The delivery service was excellent, the three slices I ordered came very well packaged, quick and friendly, and the food arrived hot. The plain slice is nothing to write home about, but I soon figured out that Slice's specialty is their special slices --the ones with interesting toppings. And there is so much variety on their menu. The Bomb is delicious and filling, as is the eggplant slice. The plain slice tastes like a diet slice of pizza and I found it quite bland. The others, however, were delicious. As someone else said, these are surprisingly filling. Leftover reheated quite well. As far as the cost, I do think it's pricey, but the slices are quite large and again, since they were so filling and satisfying, by the time I was done I didn't feel ripped off at all. If you're thinking about eating here, my advice is don't compare to your regular pizza place. I love NY pizza, but I don't think these guys are trying to compete with the standard NY slice. This Slice is a different kind of pizza, in another category all together. And it's good!

I usually equate healthy with "ick," but a local WV friend dragged me to this pizza place and I'll never question her again. I'm still dreaming about: 1. The Taste of India - Honey whole wheat crust, channa masala (organic chickpea curry, onions, fresh tomatoes), part-skim organic mozzarella 2. The Guru - Honey whole wheat crust, all-natural marinara sauce, sauteed triple mushroom combo, goat cheese, free-range crumbled chicken sausage, part-skim organic mozzarella Holy. Moly. Gourmet Goodness. The servers were friendly and really helpful (my beloved Taste of India is the owners' Grandma's recipe from India). The scene was posh (when I mentioned to a friend that I went, she told me it's a favorite of VOGUE staffers). I'm a convert... It might not be perfect, but that's mainly because it's not next door to my apartment.

Just had some pizza with goat cheese and chicken sausage. Don't usually like thin crust pizza or any toppings - but LOVED this pizza. You must try Slice!

My boyfriend and I both have allergies--I am allergic to cheese and he is allergic to gluten and we haven't had pizza in ages! Not only was this pizza unbelievably tasty (and if you're paying 5 dollars for a coffee at Starbucks, you should be okay paying $3-6 dollars for a hearty slice of pizza!) but the atmosphere and staff were so nice and gracious. Definitely recommending it to all my friends! Thanks Slice!

I wasn't sure what to expect when Slice first started construction and I was told it's healthy, gourmet, ORGANIC pizza. But wow, the toppings are so unique and taste wonderful. You actually feel like you're eating healthy even though you lose nothing in taste. The place is very charming and the service was perfectly laid back but around every time I needed them. Good music too! Overall it's slightly higher priced than normal pizza but given the much healthier ingredients it was well worth it. I spent $15 on 2 slices and a beer which completely filled me up and I'm a pretty big eater. Beer and wine selection were kind of cool too since they all came from the NY area. I expect the WV crowd to flood this place once everyone realizes it's there.

So my friend and I arrived at Slice expecting a really unique pizza experience. The pizza options are really good and different than your traditional pizza joint, but executed in a weird way. I got the bruchetta pizza which might as well been called the red onion pizza. It had almost an entire red onion cut in huge slices on a mini slice of piece that has been cut into four awkward pieces. I didn't know if I should eat with my hands or cut or what.....price was ok and I enjoyed being able to buy by the slice...but the pizza wasn't good enough for a return visit.

My wife and I dined at Slice earlier this evening. We went in with lofty expectations and were VERY disappointed. THE SERVICE WAS ABSOLUTELY POOR. We ordered two personal pizzas...one of them came out cold, and the other one came out not what we ordered. When we told the waitress that the pizza was not what we ordered, she basically looked at us like we had 8 eyes and tried to blame us. When the correct pizza came, it was rather tastless and definitely lacking something. When we asked for the check, the waitress again gave us attitude because apparently asking her to serve what we had ordered offended her. WE WILL NOT BE BACK. FYI- We overheard them quoting delivery time for pizzas 45 mins to an hour! NICE!
