    Not worth it

The space is really cute and the food is fresh, but the service and prices are what keep me from going back. Why bother when there are other places to get a quick bite or a cuppa?

Good Food at a Tiny Place

The food is really very good here, as is the coffee. But the place is tiny and easily gets crowded and noisy (the sound of the blender alone can drive you mad), and the service is sometimes slow. The Monday half-price on food (with the purchase of wine) is a great deal.

Food good but not worth the service

This place has delicious food. Their weekly specials are usually good. Their food is overpriced however, since the portions are small. The food is not the issue here however, the service is the issue. My waitress took about 8 minutes to come over to me. I sat alone and it was NOT busy. She was texting and talking to the bartender the whole time I was there. I had to ask for things multiple times. She did not warn me about the special half price condition (you have to buy a drink) even though I asked about it before I sat down. I would not recommend throwing money at a place that clearly does not value the customer.

    My new favorite spot!

We just got home from brunch and we will definitely be back! We just moved up to Morningside Heights from the West Village and miss all the cute little restaurants in the village. SIP is going to fill that void and is our new favorite place. The brunch was delicious, they served good strong coffee, the atmosphere was chill, there was good music, and our waitress could not have been more attentive and charming. We did the "all you can drink" mimosa and bloody mary brunch and stayed for quite a long time and never felt rushed. When I think of where I wan't to go and have a nice relaxing weekend brunch, this is exactly that place. I can't wait to come back and try dinner!

    Service is wretched

I went for brunch with a friend this past Sunday. The food was pretty good; we really weren't disappointed with it. But the service was exceedingly slow. They had one waitress, a dark haired, surly young woman, covering the entire busy place, and she wasn't getting things done. It took about 40 minutes to refill our drinks, so our "all you can drink" turned out to be two drinks each. I elected for just the coffee, tea, and juice, while he went for the bloody Mary and mimosa option, but we might as well have not bothered. But that's not the worst part. The waitress was among the surliest of any I've had. When asked for something that the restaurant didn't typically do, her response could have been something like, "sorry, that's not something we do here. Maybe you might try something else... perhaps X or Y?" Instead, her response was simply "No." and then she walked away. This happened a couple of times. And then she'd come back and say something like, "I guess it was edible anyway" in a sarcastic tone. I don't think I'd ever go back to this place. Not while she's there.

    Ummm... Not So Much

Picture a shot glass. Now picture half of that. This is the size of their portions. The place has a hipster vibe, and may be good for drinks, but if you're looking for food go some place else.

    Funky & Fun

I've been coming to sip for the past two years. It's right near Bank Street where I attend school so it's a great place to go after class with some friends. They have a great drink selection from booze to coffee and tea, as well as some really amazing dishes. My favorite has to be the cuban sandwich. Love the music, the atmosphere is chill and the people are pretty laid back as well. The service could def use some improvement, but other than that I <3 SIP. Also try brunch - great food and endless drinks!
