I have eaten at sip sak numerous times and always lvoed the food and that it was a smaller place where I always felt welcome. I recently went back and realized how true all of these reviews are. The menu has changed for the better! BUT the service is not good at all. From the moment we sat down they were rushing us to order, rushing us through our meal and rushing us to pay. In total, we were in the restaurant 46 minutes. At 41 minutes in the owner came over and told us we had to leave the table because he had other customers and we can't linger but invited us to linger at the bar. We had not ever finished our meal 5 full minutes prior. While the food here is good and still improving, the experience took to away from the whole experience. If you are training for the world's fastest eating contest then this is perfect place to go

Okay, so I've been here about eight times and I think if you know what you're getting into, it's really amazing. Anything with lamb is outstanding. Really top notch. Also, the eggplant salad is the best I've had. The owner is a bit of a character, and the service is rushed, but there's a reason for that. I don't know how they serve you 8 oz of amazing lamb for $14. Lamb at any market goes for $14 a pound! Their wine list is very reasonable, too. The Lengs & Cooter Shiraz retails for $17 and they sell it for $39. So, they're doing about a 100% markup on food and wine. That's ridiculously low. Most restaurants are over 200% The only way for them to make money at these prices is through upselling and turnover. If you go here, get anything with lamb, don't be high-maintenance or make special requests, and don't expect to linger. You will have an excellent meal.

I have eaten in this restaurant on a number of occasions but the past two times have found the food and service to have declined significantly. The meat and chicken dishes were chewy, the lentil soup watery and lukewarm, the chopped salad not very good and pricey and the service was marked by a waitress and hostess with very poor English comprehension and speech resulting in the wrong order and a number of misunderstandings. Two waiters hovered over us while we ate making us feel very uncomfortable due to their obvious intention of having us eat as quickly as possible and leave. Caveat emptor!

Having read some of the reviews here I wondered what kind of service I would receive - even just for delivery! Well, here's my take. The person on the phone was extremely polite and could not have been nicer. The delivery was fast - less than a half hour. And the food was DELICIOUS. I had the Tarama - A+ taste and served with delicious fresh bread - and so generous I have plenty left. Then I had the Shrimp Mushroom casserole. This was fantastic - jumbo fresh shrimp, tomato pepper sauce, mushrooms, and just a touch of cheese. Over rice? I kept thinking "superior". I like this place a lot. Maybe the ownership has responded to the negative feedback to the service. Either way, I have no complaints. I will be ordering again very soon.

The owner had a temper tantrum yelling at us because we said to our hostess that we were waiting half an hour for a table when she had advised us the wait was going to be five minutes. We got up and left. It's a great restaurant otherwise but the owner is rude.

You make a reservation for 5 at 7pm. At 8:50 you receive the check (you don't ask for it, waitress brings), You pay more than $200. And after 15 minutes the manager comes to your table, says that he's been looking at your face for a while (meaning that we should have undeerstod that we should leave) and asks you to leave since he made another reservation for your table adding that he is "sorry". You decide...

I Highly suggest you read my review before you go. There is a host here that makes your experience VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. While eatting, stands over you and watches you eat. They charge you additional charges just about everything you eat. When our bill came out to be just about $45 for a lunch for 2, he began to tell us we should order more food before we leave because our bill wasn't enough! Please consider all this before you go here!
