one of the bartenders has attitude
I went in at exactly 6pm to pick up take out food. I saw it behind the bar. The bartender was in the midst of chopping lemons, then I pointed it out and said I'll get to it. Then made 2 drinks for the waitress to pick up. At 6:15 he still hadn't handed it to me nor had they picked up the drinks. Then when I gave him 20 dollars for a 15 dollar check he had the nerver to ask if I wanted changed. I wanted to say...DUDE if you hadn't taken close to 15 minutes to walk a few feet hand me the food, give me the check I would have left the whole 20. Of course my hot food was totally cold when I got home.

Everything was good!
I don't have a single complaint about my experience here. The waitress was attentive, the atmosphere was calm and pleasant, and our food tasted good. I like that the menu was fairly simple. It had a good variety of choices but wasn't overwhelming like some restaurants that try to do everything. I don't know how crowded it gets on weekends, but I would consider this a good date place.

Definitely go back
We had a fabulous time- very relaxed, foood was well presented and tasted great, service was attentive but not overbearing. A nice addition to the neighborhood. Have recommended it to colleagues and all were pleased. The cocktails were also enjoyable.

Dark in the dark
I went without any partucular expectations for a business dinner in January 06. Greeting was OK, Reservation worked. The place is just too dark for any pursuits other than romantic, but not too noisy. The service was well intentioned but clumsy. How can you place a plastic cork in the middlle of the table and have a satisfied look about it The food was below expectations.

Highly recommend it
I read that the original chef recently departed this restaurant. I'm not sure who the current Chef is but he or she needs to be praised. The menu seems to have changed a little bit but, this restaurant is carrying on without missing a beat. I will definitely be back with friends. Service was as great as the last times.

What a surprise
From the moment my guest and I walked into Silverleaf Tavern until the second we left was nothing short of amazing. The service was impeccable, the food outstanding (especially the cheesy french toast!) and the cocktails very tasty. There seemed to be two managers, both of which stopped by several times to chat. It was my guests birthday and the dessert presented made her feel very special. Even the host used my last name when we left. I was left in a state of shock. In all of my years dining in New York, I have never felt so well taken care of... And Great food to top it all off! I will definately return time and again!

What has happened to this restaurant?
I have frequented the restaurant for lunch and dinner on business and lately I have been disappointed. The service has gone down hill. The wait staff aren't as attentive and the food selection is limited. They said they were printing a new menu since many dishes weren't available. Not really acceptable. The food was not as good as the summer. Too bad for Murray Hill.
