Fhantastic Fhood!
Vietnamese patron here. This place is the best for vietnamese cuisine. And by that I mean sans Pho. Been coming here for 3+years and I hike in from Park Slope for Chef Vinh's incredible creations. Tried everything and loved the spring rolls, summer rolls, fish, pork chop, and specials. Small but great selection of beer. Staff is super cool williamsburg types(and very attractive!) without the pretense of the mega-Thai places. Lunch sandwiches are great, again, worth the ride from the slope. I choose this place over many in the city so I highly recommended it.

good for veggies, vegans, AND meat eater
The food here is unbelievable! I'm vegetarian with a gluten and wheat allergy and my boyfriend eats (lots of) meat but we both love this place. I get the vietnamese crepe with an assortment of mushrooms and bean sprouts (no wheat or dairy!) and he either gets the crazy, delicious looking pork chop or shaken beef. They've got a great beer selection and even have a vegan, wheat and gluten free beer that I always order. The appetizers are all good but all come with a fish sauce dip. I just eat the appetizer without the sauce and it still tastes great to me. Now Im just waiting for them to bring back their vegan congee/ tapioca pearl dessert!

a favorite
I've been here about six times since Silent H opened last year and have watched this place get better and better, for both lunch and dinner. I think they are finally past their growing pains and are a solid addition to the neighborhood. The quality of food is high, the taste unforgettable and the service is right on. It's a meal that actually leaves you satiated without feeling sick or like you overdid it. Sometimes in the middle of the night I CRAVE the vietnamese crepe. My only complaint is that sometimes I wish the bahn mi's were more toasted. good food, cute decor, very reasonable prices.

best porkchop EVER!
I love Silent H so much. The peppercorn porkchop is literally one of my favorite meals in the world. Because I love it so much I haven't tried many of the other entrees, but I have tasted the shaken beef and the crepe when my friends ordered them and found them quite tasty...although nothing compares to the porkchop. Really like the spring and summer rolls. The green papaya salad with shrimp and pork belly is delicious and big enough to share as a starter. The lunch sandwiches are also very tasty although some could have more meat (the Greenpoint). The fried bananas and jack fruit ice cream are both great desserts and the Chef's choice beer is always something itneresting and worth a shot. The price is maybe a little high, but totally worth it for the quality of food and service. Long live Silent H!

A Welcome Addition to the Area
silent h is an excellent addition to an area saturated with thai and japanese restaurants on every other corner. great food, nice decor and very friendly staff. i love popping in for lunch, grabbing one of their complimentary magazines and enjoying a nice quiet lunch. it's also a welcome change from the menu items at every chinatown vietnamese spot, with a small but effective menu full modern interpretations of refreshing viet standards. the bahn mi for lunch is always great and the dinner menu is equally solid. definitely pick up the cubed steak and frites with the spicy, sweet, addictive ketchup. sooo good!
