This place didn't serve much food at all to begin with. It was a party of three, and none of us were full when we left. The service wasn't that good either. The waiters didn't seem to be waiting us willingly. And then the food was WAY HOT. My family is from India, so we can handle spicy food, but this was over the top. And then after that little amount of food, we payed $60. We agreed not to come here again.

One of my Sri Lankan friends who lived in NJ recommended Sigiriya Restaurant to me. My husband and I went there for dinner along with some friends. We had rice & curry. They were not so good as we expected, but ok. We did not like the atmosphere, and it was very small & dark inside. The Sri Lankan waiter who served us the food was very unfriendly and did not say even `hello` to us. He also pretended he did not know Sinhalese which was the funniest thing of the day. But we heard him talking Sinhalese to his colleague. Normally Sri Lankan people are very hospitable, and they also like to have homely atmosphere specially when they go to a Sri Lankan place abroad. We were not very happy with the food as well the waiter.

My first time having Sri Lankan food.. I can take spicy. But their mild has a really big spicy kick. Make sure you have rice or bread around to help alleviate the spiciness. I wouldn't recommend the shrimp curry. It must have been overcooked or something but the the shrimp had the consistency of mashed potatoes. My friends' thought their dishes were so so ---chicken kotthu roti and chicken biriyani...it was like fried rice with chicken. oddly enough both dishes are different yet looked almost exactly the same. but they really liked the coconut roti. tough to gauge b/c i havent had other sri lankan food before. but the quality of the shrimp was sub-par (and i am the type of person who will eat just about anything and like it)

Wow, great food, good value. Restaurant is tight and a bit dingy. I loved the food until I saw insects.

I went there with 2 other girls and we ordered the hoppers, string hoppers and Lamprais. The food was excellent. I love the atmosphere and decor as well. They have really made good use of the small space. However the waitress was rude to us on arrival and she never came to ask us how our meal was and if we wanted anything else. We've been there previously on the weekends and we've had good service from the waiter. He was very attentive and went about his job in a professional way.

The service is great--polite, attentive without being intrusive. The food is good. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the music is kept quiet enough that everyone can enjoy a peaceful conversation. The only complaint I had was that the portions were too small. My friend and I (both skinny women) ordered and shared two entrees. We were both quite hungry after that, so we ordered and split an appetizer. We were still quite hungry after that, so ordered desserts. After that, I came home and ate a snack, at which point I finally felt full. They appear to be doing everything right at this restaurant except for one thing, and unfortunately, the portion sizes might prevent me from going back.

This is one of a kind of food you cannot expect in any other cooking. Food was spiced to perfection and really tasty.
