Reading some of these reviews just makes me wonder what is wrong with people. Nothing is perfect and in case you didn't know, its not easy to run a restaurant and make every person happy. I worked in retail and can appreciate this. How anyone cannot like this place is beyond me. I am by no means a health food nut. I eat my share of Five Guys Burgers and now Crumbs Cupcakes who has opened in the hood! The food at Siggys is always fresh and well prepared and sure, I like some things on the menu better than others, but it is one of the few places where you can sit down to a meal and know that you are eating stuff that's good for you. Plus I find most items on the menu to be delicious if not fantastic. The staff is great and the place is cute. Lighten up!

Love love love the Cheese Lover Heaven sandwich on seven grain bread! I work in DUMBO and was excited to learn that Siggy's recently started delivering.....but a bit disappointed to find out there was a $15 minimum- most other places in the neighborhood have a $10 minimum. Since I didn't have time to walk over there today, I sucked it up and placed my $15 order. I orderd a freshly squeezed mint lemonade and it was delicious, the perfect refreshing treat for a hot June day!

I wanted to like this restaurant. I tried it three times and just couldn't get the hand of it; really bad service, just okay food, and a tight and loud atmosphere. The staff and some of the guests have a immature too-cool-for-school attitude (such as refusing to turn down blaring music so that me and my dinner companions could talk without shouting) that really wears on me. I am a life-long Heights resident and these people try too hard to be cool. They should try trading in their bored attitudes for true community fellowship and friendliness.

I wish I could like Siggy's, it's my girlfriend's first choice for takeout. But I've tried four different things and all of them tasted terrible, all in the same way: over-seasoned with too many indiscriminately added herbs and spices that just totally overwhelm the main ingredients. I love spicy food, I live on extra-spicy Asian food, but Siggy's flavors just aren't pleasant. I love curry chicken sandwiches, for instance, but their one is awful, with all kinds of weird flavors in the chicken curry mix that just don't belong there, and made with super-pungent rosemary bread (which seemed kind of stale) which just didn't go with it in any way. Pasta dishes I tried had a similar problem. Also, the menu is way too aggressively health-foody for me: I tried to find a simple compromise dish that they couldn't ruin so that I could at least order something when my girlfriend buys dinner there, but there's really nothing. Come on Siggy's, at least stoop to having a regular beef burger on the menu every day, not just as an occasional special, and lay off the weird spice mixture when you put the burger together.

My husband and I have been Siggy's customers for at least 3 years. We eat there pretty much every weekend and occasionally for dinner during the week. Over this span of time we have seen staff and menu items come and go so I feel well equipped to give a thorough review. The food here is really the best option for healthy and organic food in pretty much all of Brooklyn. The ingredients are often local, always natural and organic and always packed full of flavor, never tasting bland or like cardboard. We have tried most things on the menu, and I am pleased to say we have never had a bad meal. However, from time to time service can be lacking. It always takes a long time to get water to your table, even after asking for it more than once. To get here we have to walk about 20 minutes from Vinegar Hill, so we stop and get coffee in the winter to keep us warm on the mostly uphill climb to the heights. Once I forgot to throw away my coffee cup from another coffee spot before entering the restaurant and the waitress all but read me the riot act. Every time we came in after that she was really nasty to us. Over time she forgot and started being nice again, but I have seen her be rude and give nasty looks to people for no good reason. This made me really uneasy, and it caused us to start dining at another place every weekend for about 3-4 months. We have recently started going back and have not seen that waitress (thankfully.) Most of the staff there is extremely sweet, especially the owner Siggy and they always remember return customers. The last thing I would give constructive criticism of is how long it takes for them to get you your check. We have sat there for half an hour waiting for a check to get to our table when the place wasn't even half full and there were 2 waitstaff working. Service is everything these days especially with the competition of so many great restaurants in the surrounding neighborhoods. Good food isn't enough to bring in the customers, you need an attentive staff who really aims to make it work. But with that being said, we love this restaurant and thank heavens that it is close enough for us to hoof it over on a regular basis.

I'm trying so hard to love this place, but they really don't make it easy! the food is delicious, but every time i go (literally!) something happens that makes me leave totally unsatisfied.... from the $20 min on credit/debit cards (they offer a full counter of to-go goodies, coffee, etc for under that amount), to their staff's blase attitude, LONG waits for food, not to mention i just ordered a tuna sandwich to go and upon opening the container (i did so just 5 minutes after it was handed to me), i found the bottom piece of bread completely SOAKING wet, i guess from the sauce... for a $10 sandwich? c'mon!! for the amount of $$ they charge, they need to learn to do things WELL and to treat their customers as if they're actually welcome!
