they blew it
They oysters are a rip-off. Better off going to Blue Ribbon - you get almost double for the price Sidecar charges. Our cocktails were watery, Fried Chicken was dry and burnt and The vicysoise wasn't good. They had one chance and they basically blew it.

Not all that...
Been there 3 times. Burger never disappoints. Fries could be soggy or too salty. The other stuff is overpriced wanna be gourmet fare. On the plus side, they are open and serve food very late(when most folks are too drunk to care about shoddy fare), the drinks are good and I hear the brunch isn't bad.

the best in South Slope
I am a newly-converted die-hard fan of Sidecar. I've been at least once a week since my first visit two months ago, which is kind of ridiculous but there isn't really anything else on its level in the neighborhood. The chicken salad sandwich (brunch only) is beyond delicious. Seriously it's one of the best sandwiches I've *ever* had, with slices of apple and thick awesome country bread. The burger is delicious. The Hangover Soup (chicken, tomato, kale, and a poached egg) is heavenly. Turkey club is a completely dinner-worthy sandwich, the french fries are spectacular, and the white bean dip with bacon is ingenious (but would be better if it came with something other than tortilla chips - thin rounds of baguette, maybe?) The Banh-D is Sidecar's version of a banh mi, and for what it is it's good but not great. It's served on a soft focaccia instead of hard bread, the "spicy" version had no heat whatsoever, there are some fatty bits, and it's served with a sort of incongruous shot glass of cucumber water. Huh? Is this for sipping or dipping or what? Service can be kind of spacey, but everyone's friendly and the atmosphere is fantastic. Gorgeous walls and bar. Classic-inspired cocktails are really delicious but a little pricey for the neighborhood, they shouldn't charge double the price of beer.

Wonderful Turkey Club
I'm a huge fan of the turkey club. It's absolutely perfect and it's now a staple in my diet. Yum. Only wish it were also available during Mondays and Brunch hours.

dead RAW
The last time I went here, my burger was still moving! However, I think it has great potential, so I'll give it another chance.

I love this place!
I really love this place. The burgers are just incredible. I love burgers, and this is my number 2 burger in all of New York City. Seriously I think the special ingredient is love. I highly recommend that you wash a burger down with a pint of South Hampton Double white. So frieken good. The place aslo has a great atmosphere. Its a warm friedly neighborhood bar, but you can still get your late night drink on there. They serve food some nights until 4:00 am!!!! I mean my god how brilliant is that? The music playing is usualy quirky but enjoyable. Adds to the unique atmosphere. The bartenders are cute and funny.
