Not a good service on the phone

I tried to make a reservation, since people were coming out of town. Was told " I am busy now, I can't be looking for a manager for you, Bye." and hang up One of the bartenders is actually really nice, I go there all the time... It's shame they have poor phone manners.

    Cuban sandwich

I don't get what all the hoopla is about the cuban sandwich. It was mediocre at best. I don't care if Guy Fieri dug it. It was bland. Now the oysters, on the other hand, were delish!

    What

Wow ok the cuban sandwich tasted like lemons! It really wasn't that good at all hey at least the French fries were good, not worth leaving staten island for, go somewhere else people!

    Unappetizing food with poor service

First and foremost, the service was poor. It took 20 minutes to get a beer we ordered, nearly an hour to get starters, and forever to get dinner. The food items recommended on triple D (food network) were both unappetizing (the cuban sandwich tasted like lemon pinesol) and we barely touched them. When they cleared the still full plate, they didn't even ask what was wrong. They just barely apologized for the incredible wait and did not take anything off the bill. I will never go back to this place!

    Meh. Not the greatest.

This place needs to work on their food. The chef owner needs to get back in the kitchen and bring back some quality control. I can see the potential for the food being terrific but it misses the mark in many ways. The pork belly appetizer was cold and chewy. Pork belly I have had elsewhere has been succulent and decadent. The piece we got was like room temperature rubber. The fried chicken was tasty but the crust too salty and too dense. Had to stop eating it because I got parched. The white bean dip was tasty albeit a little heavy and could use a lighter texture. Better for a snack with beer than an appetizer with dinner. The mixed drinks were tasty but was there alcohol in there? They could have been stronger. Service was great and the waiters deserved their 20%. As was the atmosphere and decor very comfortable and eye pleasing. But would I go back for the decor and service? Unlikely. They need to step it up a notch in the kitchen.

    Delivery questionable

I have ordered from this restaurant for delivery many times and always enjoy it. I called to make a delivery tonight and they said they don't deliver this far and hung up. Wow, that's quite a fall from a place I used to love.
