Not worth it
Food portions are too little for the price. The duck that we ordered is way too salty. Vegetables are so-so fresh only. Some other dishes - too much starch. Service is spotty. Quite a disappointment.

Fab food, older crowd
Tried this place a couple of times, and being in my thirties was delighted to find myself the youngest person there. Possibly by decades. I think just about everyone eating there early is off to the Lincoln Center which is just over the road. All that aside, dine in the main restaurant if you want top quality service (and you'll get it): it's a bit less personal in the 'cafe' or the 'bar'. The food is outstanding and good value. Not regular cheap Chinese: filet mignon and greens are great, as was spicy seabass, and delicately served for you by the waiter rather than regular 'family style' do-it-yourself.

Shun Lee
The Greatest Chinese Food on the Upper West Side! They have incredible Dim Sum (at the cafe), amazing poultry and meat dishes, and the best fried rice I've ever had. The prices are a bit high, so it's not necessarily a weekly takeout place, but if you ever feel like going out on a weekend for great Chinese Food, Shun Lee is the place to go!

Food for a True Mikado
It's the best of its breed... best of its kind. Period. Fit for a Mikado (or any king). YUM YUM. The food quality is of the highest ranking. Anything... meat, shrimp, lobster, pork, chicken... amazing quality. The service is very attentive, very quick, very friendly. The value... well it's expensive... but remember this is the best quality food of its kind on the island of Manhattan. The atmosphere in the main restaurant on West 65 Street is much better than the cheaper-priced Cafe (also on W 65). You'll savor the experience.
