Overrated
I found this place to be overrated, and you can find better dim sum anywhere in Chinatown. Also, not a good date place, as the lighting is unflattering.

Delicious
We order in from Shun Lee ALL the time. It is reliably high quality. We go to the dim sum cafe sometimes - the fried pork dumplings are awesome - for a really good casual meal and prices there are like all the other local spots. Service in the cafe is crazy, not great, but it's a fun casual fast moving place. Service in the restaurant is EXCELLENT and the prices are high, but it is without a doubt the best chinese on the west side. A very 80s-style black and red atmoshpere. The wait staff is so friendly and happy to talk in great detail about the dishes...or anything!

Great
Heartily recommend. Enormous menu,, everything on it is great. Pricey, but worth it - more than just a neighborhood joint.

Fab!
I have literally traveled the world, and Shun Lee is second to none. Anyone who can afford this meal would be crazy to pass it up...crazy!

Expensive
I must say that I had heard good things about this place as being the restaurant with the best Chinese food in town. But the food was poor to mediocre (the vegetable dumplings were alright, everything else was not); the service was good and the ambiance was nice. Overall, a poor value considering the large price tag. One could get the same quality food for $20 delivery instead of paying $100 at this place.

So yummy...don't pass up!
My boss orders from this place all the time, so I figured I would give it a try....and let me tell you, it was Awesome. The food is different from most Chinese places in that it's quality stuff....you can taste the difference. I had the Chicken with 3 different nuts, and it was out-of-this-world. Also try the cold noodles with sesame paste....you can't go wrong with Shun Lee!

The Best on the West!
Forget what these other fools are saying.... this is the best Chinese food in Manhattan. I highly recomend the Dim Sum Cafe too. Bring a date, an important client, or your 80 year old grandmother, I guarantee you will have a blast!
