Pretty Nice Place to Eat
We stayed at the Westin so I was not altogether excited about eating Christmas Eve dinner at the hotel. However, we were a group of 7 and my grandparents were with us and we had a great time. The staff was very good and the food was good too. My family was especially pleased. The food wasn't the greatest food ever and I was hesitant to go there because the Zagat commentary was pretty tacky but I would say that the food was quite reliable and accomodating to a wide variety of tastes. My grandparents loved the food and so for that I give Shulas a pat on the back for pleasing the Seniors!

At half the price it would be robbery!
Just can't understand how Shula's steak can be so bland, dry and tasteless. How difficult is it to get a good steak right. The service was great, the decor lovely, the food - stay home and put a steak on the grill.

Average everthing
Well, the place is nice and has a relaxed feel to it. The food is ok but not great (at least for lunch). The service is ok and nothing really stands out. Being in the Westin probably helps its business.

Not worth the trip
There are much better steakhouses in the Times Square area than this joint. This place had mediocre food (including dessert) at very high steakhouse prices.

I liked it
Not the best steakhouse in the city, but worth the visit if you're looking for a new venue. the meat is as good as anywhere, and the atmosphere is great.

Good Steak, Poor Service
My big thing is to try all different steakhouses - I heart steak. I was so disappointed with Shula's, which was recommended by the concierge at the Helmsley Park Lane. The atmosphere was too quiet, my husband and I were so far from each other at the table that we couldn't hear a whisper (yet felt rude to speak out loud). We saw our waiter a total of 3 times that night (he greeted every table with a condescending "what kind of WATER would you like?"......somehow I prefer "hello"), and after our table was wiped clear of crumbs we didn't see him for 45 minutes. We almost missed our show! My steak was under-cooked, but it was delicious aside from that. I could have sent it back but I was embarassed. :D Bottom line: I liked the steak but not the service - just my humble opinion!

Good food, high price
Shulas still serves some of the best steaks around. If you want the best Shulas sitck to the home bases in Miami or Fort lauderdale. Only complaint that could be made was the exorbitant price of the meal, even by New York standards! I could of flown down to Miami to visit Shulas on the beach for what I paid for my meal.
