    still going strong

great meal from start to finish...the grilled shrimp appetizer and the roast chicken entree were the highlights of an excellent experience...happy to see it's still doing well

This Chef wants to make you happy!

Recently went here for dinner. Very cozy atmosphere, and very efficient and friendly service. The food was excellent, particularly the pork belly appetizer and roasted cod entree. What impressed me the most however, was the dedication of the chef. When I called to change my reservation, the Chef/owner himself called me back to confirm. During the meal, the Chef emerged from the kitchen to alert us of a late substitution on the menu which affected two of our orders. He could not have been more gracious, and was very accommodating. The substitutions were delicious, and the Chef sent out free ice cream at the end of the meal to thank us for our flexibility. He also rushed out of the kitchen to see us off at the end of the meal despite having a full restaurant to tend to. I have a tremendous amount of respect for this type of hard-working and dedicated chef/owner. Being treated this way makes dining out a pleasure. An excellent experience, and very good food, makes Shorty's.32 a place worth a visit.

Excellent on any day of the week

Shorty's is cozy, has warm and excellent service, fantastic food that would qualify as classy comfort food, and is worth a visit on any day of the week. The starters alone are so good that we often just order two each instead of entrees, which are also great, however. And don't forget to try the passion sorbet chocolate cake for desert! So it's small and has limited seating, but the quality of the place quickly makes up for any waiting. It's also great for events; we had the century's most impressive wedding dinner there last week and everybody loved everything !

    Falls "Short"

After hearing the praises of Shorty's from a colleague at work, I decided to try it with a friend last night for dinner. If I were a professional reviewer and had to rate Shorty's on four starts, I would give it two: two for the two things I liked and take away two for the two things I did not like. First, the two good stars. The service staff was very friendly and efficient. We were warmly greeted and the host did his best to find us a table qickly, even though the place was crowded. Star two: the food was very good. Everything was fresh, tasty and nicely presented. Now, the two stars that need to be taken away. I feel that the restaurant, for what it was, was overpriced. This is a small, neighborhood place, very cramped, small tables, and certainly small on atmosphere. That said, $30 entrees and $14 appetizers were a bit over the top. Although the food was good, the portions were not all that ample for the price. But the biggest complaint I had (star four taken away) was the noise level. Being small with poor acoustices, they had the music blarring, which made the patrons talk even louder to be heard above the music. The combination was uncomfortable and annoying. I wish restaurants would decide whether they want to be "restaurants" or "nightclubs". There was no chance of a conversation take place. All in all, Shorty's falls "short" of what could have been a more pleasant dining experience.

    TGI is crazy

I think TGI Friday is crazy. I work in design and I can safely say that Shorty's.32 and Target do not belong in the same sentence. I would define this restaurant as a quaint, fun and tasty place with a relaxed staff. This is a great restaurant to go to if you really want delicious food, awesome music and killer drinks. The stargarita is my favorite. I also love the crab sticks and the chicken. The chocolate bread pudding might be one of the best sweets I have ever had. This is one of my favorite restaurants in NY.

    TGI fridays Soho

I read a lot about this place prior to going and was thinking it was going to be something special. I think Target is doing restaurant design now and it's Shorty's 32. The food good but uninspired. The service is the best part. You will have to wait to be sat here because it is busy and small. A little Short is the feeling I was left with.

    Tasty, cozy, friendly

went here for brunch yesterday. we were seated immediately although the place was fairly packed. the food was very good: the freshly squeeze oj was excellent, very yummy chicken apple sausage, fresh fresh fruit and great strong coffee. i would return and i would recommend it. the prices were maybe 10% more than you'd expect for brunch but the quality was there and the service was also satisfactory. didn't wait too long for anything - food, check, coffee refill, etc.
