Damn good cheesesteak
I'm surprised by the negative reviews. I've been to shortys twice now an thought the cheesesteak was great. Especially if you like spicy ones. The service was good and it's a good place to watch a game. Nice addition to the neighborhood, and I'll be back regularly.

Not recommended
Food here is decent. Good wings, nice cheese steak. BUT, man is this place a clip joint. Sure it's crazy whenever a bar charges you $4 to refill your coke. I get it, you need to make $ when you can. But charging extra for 'hot sauce', charging extra for whiz on the side. Give me a break. I'm almost surprised they didn't charge extra for the ketchup. Thanks but no thanks. See you later Shorty's.

Roll Problems
i dont doubt their rolls are from philly (amoroso's even perhaps). but they obviously don't get them fresh daily because they are always toasted to conceal staleness. the hoagies are like (from an eating experience, not taste) cheap crunchy taco shells falling apart. not how cheesesteaks and hoagies are done. i know i can't compare anything in nyc to the awesomeness of delasandro's, jims, abners, etc. etc... but it's a shame shorty's sacrifices the whole meal just to claim they have philly rolls. good loction and friendly folks; im sure they'll do fine anyway.
