Do not order raw fish!
OK food, great value, but know prices and what you are ordering! Do avoid their fish because it's not fresh or tasty. I love sashimi and I tried their platter once and it almost had no taste. I love their shrimp mango and avocado rolls and seaweed salad. Note that they all are Chinese and not Japanese. I was waiting for my order once and another patron ordered 3 rolls. The cashiers were debating in Chinese whether to tell him they have a lunch special for 3 rolls or to charge him the full price. They decided to charge him the full price. They told the customer it's $15 but he said he wanted the lunch special. Just be aware of what they offer and how much. Hope this helps.

Review Your Bill!
Great Sushi, with hidden fees tacked on! I love their sushi, but I really don't appreciate when they over charge on their items. They have done it almost every time and I only recently caught on! Extra tax, an extra 50 cents here and there...and they have done it to other people I know! It's not much per order, but I am sure it adds up if they do it to everyone! They never know the right prices for their dishes...beware!

Great for Lunch
I go here all the time for lunch. The box lunch are great 9-11 dollars. Salmon Teryaki is the best, coms with soup, california roll, shumai, rice and vegatable. Tough to beat.

Nice, small, inexpensive place
Great for lunch if you work in the area, and great for take-out. 3-roll lunch special (18 individual pieces) for $9.95 -- not bad.

Great sushi lunch at a good value
Shinju is a great place to grab lunch if you work downtown. Their sushi is quite reasonably priced ($8 for 2 rolls or sushi lunch special, $10 for 3 rolls) and lunch comes with salad or miso soup. It gets quite crowded from ~12:30-1:30 so if you want to eat-in try to come off-hours. Otherwise call ahead and they'll have it read for pick-up. Rolls aren't huge but are reasonably sized, sushi is fairly fresh and tasty. My only gripe is that the inside-out rolls are coated in sesame seeds instead of tobiko.
