    bad korean lunch expensive prices

Never again for lunch here at least so i guess since i didn't speak korean than i get placed to sit in the front the restaurant which was empty while everyone else "korean" was sitting in the back... the side dishes were meeh, but our meal was gross. i didn't want to remember what I ordered. it was so expensive too. my gf and i both ordered soups with meat. my bowl of meat and soup had no flavors. bad meat quality. my gf's soup had scallion overload, the soup actually some flavor. she didn't like her meal either. We both love korean food, but not this place. Hopefully they will make the necessary changes to service and food.

    Embarassingly poor food quality

I had Curry Katsu for lunch and was very disappointed at the quality of the food. The meat was very dry to the point the end pieces were hard. It was not fresh at all. They served it with what seemed about three bowls of rice underneath the curry & cutlet. I understand they're not a japanese restaurant, but that should not mean they serve a poor quality Katsu. I felt like all they served was a huge plate of rice and It was such a waste! I wouldn't go here again!

    Poor execution on tradition

We had dinner this evening at Shilla and were extremely disappointed by the quality of the food. The tartare was ice cold almost frozen, the squid was sitting in a sauce that looked like to have been done days before, and the Bi Bim Bop was served in a wooden bowl (!) with almost no rice and a lot of lettuce, basically a salad with a couple of veggies in it. A very disappointing experience overall with food really not prepared correctly. A cheap imitation of a real Korean place. I actually went out of my way to make sure I would put a review on this restaurant because I want to make sure people don’t get fooled like I did. There are so many more attractive options around.

Best Kal Bi & Naeng Myun in the city!!

I have gone there with my co-workers and friends for Kal -bi numerous times and it has never failed to please my taste buds. Flavor and the tenderness of the meat just melts in your mouth. I have to say Shilla's Mul Naeng Myun is the best I ever had. It was the exact taste I have experienced from Korea. I am not sure if you are into raw beef but... My friend just got me into it. lolz. Yook Hwe there is the best!! It's fresh and yummy! Looking forward to going back there soon!!

    Excellent food, service

The food and the service were exquisite at Shilla! The Korean barbecue was truly authentic (even my Korean piano teacher wholeheartedly agreed), and our waitress cooked all the food on the barbecue right in front of us and waited on us the entire time. The beef and spicy pork was fresh, juicy, flavorful, and even spicy. This restaurant truly does belong in the "Korean district"!!

    Overpriced mediocre food, bad service

My friends and I went in here because it looked clean and modern. The atmosphere did not disappoint, but everything else was no good. We got various bbqs (kalbi, sam-kyup-sal and mushrooms) and the meat quality was average at best. Considering that they charge $20-25 per serving (slightly above average for ktown), they don't give you a lot of meat. They were quite busy, but even accounting for that, the service was unbelievably bad. Besides the usual - a tired and grumpy waitress who's never around, slow service, etc. - the worst part was when the staff made snide comments in Korean without realizing that I understood what they were saying (I'm half Korean). I won't go back.
