Shi's is a must visit when I am in NYC. I have been all over the United States and I can say without hesitation that they make the best Chinese food I have ever tasted. My favorite dish is the Sesame Chicken. The 4.5 atmosphere rating is due to the low-lives from the UN that try to finagle a free or discounted meal. Best time to visit Shi's is after the lunch time rush. Truly the best Chinese food in all of NYC!

I'm writing this as I am eating a take out lunch from Shih Lee. I ordered - General Tso chicken, pork fried rice, and hot and sour soup...essentially their L30 plus $1 extra for the pork fried rice. The people there did not even know their menu and menu options. Total chaos and confusion as I ordered by item - almost seems like no one was listening or paying attention. It was quite the hassle for what is a quick and often common order. The food - OK, not spectacular - a great overall value. Very disappointed.

First time reviewer but felt inclined to do because the service and delivery was poor. Told it would be 20-30 minutes. 60 minutes later I'm told they only have one delivery guy this evening and food on it's way. 90 minutes later he doesn't know where his delivery guy is. turns out he went to wrong address 10 blocks away. never ordering from here again.

The dumplings had little meat within. The Shrimp had so much batter it was hard to distinguish them. The sauce was full of sugar. The egg roll was bland and unremarkable. I would pass on this place it was them most distasteful chines food I can remember

This is among the best chinese food this area has to offer - and it is quite possibly the best I've ever had. The dumplings are made fresh to order as well as the eggrolls - not sure where the guy from the previous post actually went, but is surely wasn't the same shih lee I've come to love. I've lived in the area for over 1 year now and I've tried all the chinese food places around. This is hands down the best. Chicken and broccoli, sesame chicken, buddhist delight, eggrolls, and dumplings are personal favs.

I am new in the area and decided to check out some great Chinese spots. Bad Idea with this place. I walked in and thought that I was going to be able to order my lunch and it would be cooked fresh! Nooo....I walk into a small shack of a chinese eatery where all the food is PRECOOKED!! Uggghhh!! Since I walked down from 42nd and had to get back to work, I said "What the Hell" let me try it out. I ordered the Chicken and Broc, Spicy Chicken and a couple of Chicken Wiings..I know a lot of chicken..and I included the Veg LoMein. I was displeased with all of the food and I am a hardcore Chinese eater..come on I am from Los Angeles and we are not just know for Mexican! The LoMein was mushy, cold and very Americanized! The Chicken and Broc was a weird looking color so I was quite nervouse to dig in, and the spice chicken was welll lets just say not so spicy! The only positive comment that I can say about the establishment was the staff was very pleasant and the spices they used on the chicken wings was marvelous! Before you decide to take that lonnggg trip down the unknown when your craving Chinese, you might want to look to your usual spot.

The beef noodle soup is better than chinatown.
