Get Your Chowder Here!
We must have walked past this restaurant one thousand times without giving much thought to their dinner menu. Last wednesday night I stopped in to finally check it out. the waiter suggested I try the seafood chowder to start. Oh Man! this has got to be the best chowder in Brooklyn. It is loaded with fresh mussles and cod, hearty vegetables and the rich creamy broth resinates and left me wanting for more. Now I know they deliver, I will definatly be enjoying the chowder from the comfort of my couch.

bartender is clueless! hard to get served
We have given this place at least a half dozen tries - the atmosphere is great, the wait staff is good, the food is good but expensive I think. but the bartender! I usually have to wave my money at him to get a drink and even after he sees me he takes his time coming over - a bit like a petulant child. Won't go back - if I'm paying $7 for a pint of Guiness at least don't make me beg for it!

shearer's burger is the best
Great atmosphere. If you go definitely try ozie standards. The shearer's burger is great, make sure you have it with the toppings (pineapple, beet, and egg). The meat pie is also excellent and a good value too. Its fun to cozy up to the bar with a cooper's and a pie. Make sure you put sauce on your pie (ketchup).

A Lovely Place
I've been here several times. I was initially impressed with the rustic and homey decor, but the more I go, the more I love this place! The food is homey, and the wait staff is super friendly and helpful. I might even consider renting out the cozy back room with a fireplace for my birthday. Try the poutine ("it's a Quebec thing" is what the menu says) and I don't care where it's from, but if you like fries with gravy and a delicious melted cheese, then this is the perfect side for your dinner.

Okay not great
I trekked from the Upper East Side to celebrate my Australian husband's birthday. It was a Tuesday night, true, but insanely quiet! Food was fine meat pie was one of the best I've had in the city. Burger needed less burger (it was too thick and overcooked) and more of the unique toppings. Beers were good. Maybe a quaint local place, but can't say I'd make the trek again. Cheers, mate!

Fun place!
I stopped in this past Sunday afternoon and loved the relaxed atmosphere and overall vibe the place had. What a great spot to hang out with friends or go for a date. I also liked the huge mirrors on the bathroom walls. Very cool decorating idea!
