Best authentic Japanese restaurant in NYC

I've been going to Sharaku for 15 years and enjoy it every time. The food is always delicous with reasonable price, specially fish is always fresh, empressive! I think it's because it's made by real Japanese chefs who've been working there as long as I've been going there. Also the employees are always courteous and accomodating. Strongly recommend.

food is ok , good services

i been here for dinner for many times and never got bad experiences about their services, maybe i tipped them good lol but those ppl who tipped bad were deserve bad services, well, i think it happens at every restaurant in New York City, if u couldn't tip good, just go to the market , buy your own foods and cook yourself, so u don't need to tip those servers..

    Poor service

I've been living in NY for the last 4 years and I have to say this was the poorest culinary experience so far. I went there for dinner on a weekday with a bunch of friends. Service was lousy. The waiter was quite forgetful, he brought 2 glasses with lipstick marks, but most importantly, he was very rude. He told us that the sushi bar would be closing so it was time to make last calls. We ordered 4 rolls, he only brought 3 and when we asked him for the missing one he didn't acknowledge his mistake and said that it was closed. He immediately brought the check and was buzzing around the table like a bumblebee, waiting for us to pay.Because of the lousy service we gave him 10% tip only. He checked the tip in front us, asked for more, and when we refused he recommended we go to a chain restaurant next time. We asked to talk to the manager and he said he was the manager.

    excellent!

Second visit for me to this restaurant and I'm not dissapointed. We ate at the sushibar and they gave us complementary appetisers as it was the end of the day and they weren't gonna serve it the next day. It was simply delicious and frech. The sushis were to die for and my standards are high. I'll definitly go back

    Pretty good

It was a pretty good experience for me. The food was very nice, and the price was reasonable. The service was decent, too.
