i just can't get the lion's head casserole out of my mind. it was the most delicately seasoned yet flavor filled dish i've had at any restaurant in a long time.

My friends and I went to this place after reading the reviews here. It turned out to be one of the best places we've been to in the area. More expensive than regular Chinese food. But the food was absoulutely phenomenal! Has one of my favorite Shanghai dishes too! Things that didn't look good or special turned out to be amazing. Two definite thumbs up! Must try!

Juicy pork dumplings with ginger sauce is the best.

Not only is the food fantastic, it will get to you in minutes after ordering. It actually scares you a little on how fast they can deliver. All food is cooked perfectly, the portions are not over the top like most restaurants, but they are not small by any means. Eating at the restaurant is just as good too. Great atmosphere, great service and great food.

Had a wedding rehearsal dinner, invited family (Chinese and Japanese relatives): had an amazing meal. Relatives from mainland China gave this place a 108 out of 100. An eight course meal, everything was both authentic with a twist. Service from Tom, the manager, was top notch. Chef was amazing. I've had high end Chinese in Vancouver Canada, and Shanghai Pavilion still ranks the best. Give Tom some leeway about the menu, and you will not be disappointed. This place is in a completely different league (higher) than other places.

The dumpling vegetarian style are excellent, so are the shrimp but you only get 4. The bean curd with crab meat are fab. The casserole of bean curd is good, but not as good as the silky crab meat bean curd. The prawns are good but expensive for $20. They often try to push the specials which can be $45 so beware. The eggplant for $12 with black bean was quite good. It is the best Chinese restaurant in the neighborhood.
