Had great food and drink at great prices. Service was excellent. Would definitely recommend!

While the prices may be a bit higher than your typical chinese take out joints, there's a certain quality you know you're paying for and that is why it's more expensive. I've been a fan of Shanghai Pavilion since it opened. The soup dumplings are amazing and a MILLION times better than that tourist trap, Joe Shanghai, down in Chinatown. Dishes to try: chicken crescent dumpling, juicy/soup dumplings, pan fried noodles, and shredded crispy beef.

Better than Mr. Chow's and incredibly fast delivery. How can you beat it?

This was the best Chinese restaurant in NY/NJ. My wife is from China and she is not easily pleased but she loved this restaurant and the Staff is the best.

Shanghai Pavilion is the most incredible place on earth. Besides having the best chinese around, their delivery people are seriously god-like. I have gotten an order delivered from them in under 15 minutes, and I live 10 blocks from there. I dont get it, but I honestly dont care, because sometimes I think this chinese may just be delivered by god to my doorstep in the form of a little asian man (who by the way is the friendliest delivery guy ive met). I have ordered from here over 50 times, and have never had one bad order, EVER.

My boyfriend and I went here for New Year's Eve and were absolutely thrilled. We’ve been to over 30 Chinese restaurants together, and this is one of the absolute best. The service was fast and courteous, the atmosphere very pleasant, and the food delicious. We shared an order of the crab and pork soup dumplings which were very tasty. Then we split the pork with bean curd (excellent, but could have been served a bit warmer) and the jumbo crispy shrimp with walnuts. The shrimp dish was one of the best things I have ever tasted, with huge and very fresh shrimp in an incredible sauce. Along with the free cabbage and peanuts on the table before you order, this was more than enough food for us. Yes, it is definitely on the pricier side for Chinese, but it is in line or even inexpensive relative to other “nice” upper east side restaurants. I’ve never had take-out here, but the prices were about 20-30% less and there also look to be some very reasonably priced lunch specials (albeit with less exciting dish options). Overall, we were very happy with our meal and we’re planning to go back for Valentine’s Day!

I don't know what those last few reviews were talking about. Maybe they were at a different restaurant and got confused. Our table of four shared a lot of different dumplings and four different main courses and we have nothing but great things to say about the food and service the other night . Excellent value for the money, and I would highly recommend this place.
