I love this place!
The Northern Chinese food is delicious and they have quick delivery over a pretty long distance. The soup dumplings are best I have tasted outside of Chinatown and satisfy the craving; all of the other dishes I've tried have been good as well. Highly recommended.

Best Chinese on the UES
I've never eaten in the restaurant, but delivery is great. Always on time, and the food is the best I've had from any Chinese delivery place on the UES. The chunks of chicken appear to be actual pieces of chicken, not blobs of random goo that you get from most other Chinese places. I will never order from another Chinese restaurant on the UES. If Shanghai Pavillion is closed, I will just order Dominos. There is seriously no substitute.

Pretty Good
Agree with upscale Chinese. The drinks were expensive. The food was pretty good, wouldn't say it was the best Chinese I've had. The pork dim sum was very good. Oveall pretty good. Don't think it is worth the extra $$ though.

Best NY Chinese Restaurant.....
I eat here on a weekly basis and live in the Bronx. I discovered the place before moving from UES and then to Queens and still ate there once a week. Highly recommend crescent chicken dumplings - has the best spicy sauce - crispy shredded beef, crispy chicken w/ celery and my favorite (from the back menu) - broccoli & chicken with kung pao sauce - extra spicy Service is fast and quick. Don't forget to try the ginger ice cream with real bits of ginger. Very refreshing after the wonderful meal. I always take out-of-town visitors there. Not your ordinary NY chinese restaurant - upscale is how I describe to my friends and worth the extra $$$.

Enjoyable
First time diner at Shanghai Pavilion last night and all around very pleased with the service and the food quality. Definitely would recommend and will go back again very soon. More of an 'upscale' Chinese restaurant.

Fantastic! Ridiculously fast delivery.
The title says it all. The food is great and the delivery is ridiculously fast. I've eaten there too and it's very pleasant, good service.
