Highs and lows
we ordered a few times from this place as well as eaten in. This time we strayed away from our regulars and we were very disappointed. We ordered vegetarian dumplings. I was furious to see that for $7 we received 4 small dumplings - and they did not taste good either. Also, we ordered the mock duck - it was nothing more than cold tofu paper (skin) in brown sauce. Also, the egg drop soup was orange - why, I could not tell you. Fried rice and general tso's chicken were fine - nothing awesome, but decent. I would rather go somewhere else for the money they charge here.

I used to love the food!
Did they lose their Chef? We always ordered from this restaurant. The food was fantastic. We were away for 6 months and when we came back looked forward to the delicious Chinese food. We are very disappointed. Five items and each one was unappetizing. Dumplings were mushy and wrong size to be eaten in one piece, so it was a mess. The salt and pepper pork ribs had no salt; the duck was cold and tasteless. Embarrassing since we had guests. Never again!

Disappointed
I ordered the "Salt & Pepper Pork Ribs" tonight and when I opened the container I wondered what was in it. I expected bone-in ribs, with a nice salt and pepper crust. Instead I received little dry square slices (think Wheat Thins) of meat that seemed like they had been salt cured. There were about 8 of these small pieces and then a whole lot of shredded and raw onions and hot green peppers. This was a huge disappointment. I was looking forward to some sort of succulent ribs for the price I paid for this entree and instead I received what seemed like a paltry appetizer that didn't taste very good.

Best Chinese on the UES
I will never order from another Chinese place. This is the best. Delivery is super fast, never been inside. They are pricey but it is well worth it! This is the UES afterall.

Give me clogged arteries!
I ordered a beef and broccoli for delivery and when I opened the container, it was flooded with oil. The meat wasn't simmered in the sauce at all because when you bit into it the taste is of just the meat and oil. The sauce itself was floating around separately in the oil. Everytime you take a bite of something all you can feel and see is the oil dripping off. Also, they jacked up my order, but refuse to admit that they made a mistake. Never ordering from this place again.

I'm hoping this was an off night...
I've eaten at this place several times and been very pleased. I've ordered from this place several times and am usually happy, but i just had one of the poorest Chinese meals ever. We ordered General Tso's chicken, cold sesame noodles, and minced pork with noodles in black bean sauce. The sesame noodles were fine, no real complaints except that they were a little gritty, but not bad. The minced pork with noodles was okay, but the noodles were completely mushy - WAY over done, almost formed a big mush ball when i emptied out of the container. But that was nothing compared to the General Tso's chicken. First the sauce is good, i'll give them that, but they don't give you enough sauce to put over the rice. Second, the chicken was DRY beyond belief - it was as if it was overcooked, then sat on the counter, then was reheated. also, the delivery guy got to my place in 5 minutes - no way they cooked the food to order, the chicken was probably made and packaged earlier along with the mushy noodles. Hopefully this was an aberration, I would normally recommend this place, but based on todays dinner, i'd stay away from the delivery...

What!
I so do not understand the rave reviews that this place is getting. My soup dumplings were cold and all of them crushed so the soup came out. Lo mein was greasy and flavourless....the worst is that I paid with my credit card and first they charged me twice. After having them fix that mistake I later saw on my credit card statement that they had given themselves a 13 dollar tip on a 31 dollar check! WTF! Dont do it unless you want bad food that is waaaaay overpriced.
