interesting and delicious
We had headed out to try Beyoglu, but seeing its long line, we ventured over to Shalizar instead. We definitely recommend it and will go again. The tabouleh tasted just like the homemade kind made by Middle Eastern friends of ours. The varieties of rice were very tasty and different. The food was cooked and presented well. The lamb with saffron was very enjoyable. Normally we don't like meats with sweet fruit, but the chicken stew with pomegranate was really good. The ice cream trio for dessert was a delightful mix of flavors. We were even given a free glass of wine with dinner, a nice surprise.

Kheyli Khoob
If we don't make it to Shalizar at least once in three weeks, we have withdrawal symptoms! The food is yummy and the staff are so polite. Merci Shalizar.

Excellent find and service
I absolutely loved Shalizar. I went there last night with a friend for a pre-theatre meal. The service was excellent, and if it is possible, the food was even better. We began with an appetizer of hummus and a shirazi salad (similar to israeli salad) and the chef gave us a cucumber and yogurt dip on the house. The fresh, warm bread with the three appetizers were delightful, and although a bit filling, a delicious way to start the meal. We shared the Mahi Ramsar (halibut) and Lamb, which are highly suggested. Too full for dessert, we declined a dessert menu, but were surprised by a trio of ice creams on the house. The ice creams were of cherry, rose, and pomegranate, and were the perfect ending to our meal. I highly suggest the rose and pomegranate ice creams for any future diners!

Fabulous find
Been here twice and loved it both times! The lamb dish is by far their best entree.. Get the 22$ one since it is marinated overnight and when served it is extra juicy and fabulous. Great service, waiters were all above par and very friendly. Great place, would reccommend to all that want to try persian food... the dill rice is a must!

This place is great
My girlfriend and I have been coming here since it opened. The service is excellent and the food is great. But what we like the best is the atmosphere. The vibe is classy, music is Asian fusion and not loud at all. We have had many a pleasant conversation over dinner. The wine list is sufficient and there are numerous vegetarian options. I would not hesitate to take anyone here, unless they prefer to eat out of a feed bag or hot dog cart. We had two appetizers, two mains and three quartinos of wine for less than $75.00 total. They always seem to throw in a free appetizer or dessert as well. You really can't go wrong!

Decent Food, but pretentious
We went there because of past reviews, but our experience wasn't as positive. While food was good (not amazing - for example, the hummus wasn't great, but the yoghurt dishes and rice were quite good), the service was poor, but for the atmosphere and to be a nicer restaurant, there was no attentiveness and it took a while to get our food. The atmosphere was nice, but a little pretentious. I wouldn't go back again. The portions were large.
