Shake Shack

I finally got a chance to go to shake shack, what a disappointment! The line moved quickly, I was surprised by that, but when I got my food back to my office, I found the french fries to be very good, I believe they had celery salt on them, nice touch, but the burger, what I really went for, was horrible, the meat was verry pink, mushy to point, didnt taste any special sauce, not verygood, I was glad I didnt spend a lot of time on line, however my co worker got the Hot Dog and she loved it. I was wishing I had got that. Maybe I'll try that, not in any rush.

I arrived at 11:15 soon after they opened. By the time I ordered my burger and got a seat, the line began. Oh, did I mention how yummy the Shack burger was! I savored every bite and loved the specail sauce that came on it. I skipped the fries, as they were your ordinary crinkle cut version. Enjoyed the park for some time after and was glad I ordered when I did as the line got ridiculous. If you can time it right, this burger is so worth it!

The Shake Shack burger is really good. One of the reasons it's so good is that they don't really make a round patty in the traditional sense. It's more like a piece of chopped meat broken off from a larger pile and tossed on the grill. Because of this style, the edges are rough and tend to get crispy and grizzled while the main part stays soft and juicy. It's really quite a treat when put together with their sauce. In fact, it's quite addicting. But I'm sorry, nothing, and I mean NOTHING is worth waiting an hour in line for. The only time I wait in line for an hour is at the DMV and that is because I have to. Shakes are really good too! Recommended.

Every NYU student I met my freshman year couldn't stop praising this place, so I thought I had to go. I checked out the menu online before going. Thoroughly disappointed with the place. The Shack Burger supposedly comes with a special "Shack Sauce". It turned out to be mayo. The burger was tiny - the patty can't have weighed more than 2.5 ounces. It felt undercooked and the lack of "Shack Sauce" gave it a rather bland flavor. I had to smother the patty with mustard and ketchup to be able to force myself to eat it (I never put condiments on my burgers; a good one shouldn't need any). The line wasn't very bad when I went, but the burger is nothing worth writing home about. That people actually wait hours in line to get it shocks and bemuses me. Final thoughts: Never Again.

We love Shake Shack to bits... it's so drool-worthy! The concrete, the burgers... But be prepared to wait in line for a very, very long time!! I wish they could dish out the goods in half the time!!

yes the line is utterly long. but you line up anyway because you know the end result is worth it. The double shack burger with bacon is heaven on earth. I think people who say it's not worth are more upset because they had to wait. If they only had to wait five minutes I guaran-damn-tee they would have a different opinion. The fries, however, are just okay, not great. But who cares when you have a great burger and great shakes! Oh, and to the people who complain about lack of seating: it's a damn park, there are seats and benches EVERYWHERE - good grief!

It's worth it, trust me. The people below who rate this poorly and call the burgers "forgettable" and "average" are cranky snobs who will never find happiness with their food. The line is long, but go there expecting to spend an hour or two in the park on a nice day. It's so worth it! I haven't tried anything but the double shack burger because it's too good to pass up every time. Get a shake or the Shackmeister Ale, and enjoy!
