I get it, you stand on line for over an hour and expect nirvanna. Maybe, you're all the fools?? What kills Shake Shack are the expectations one has before going. The burgers are very, very good and I've had them all over NY. Are there better places with less wait? Of course. But is it the experience of the shack one should go for. Sitting in the park, enjoying an above average burger with some crispy crinkley fries and a shake. If you're expecting perfection maybe you should go to Per Se and drop a grand. Additionaly, the prices at the shack are extremely fair.

The Shake Shack has great food in an incredible atmosphere. It is the atmosphere along with the food that truly makes it a great experience. Madison Square Park is pretty and a great place to relax. The Shake Shack has excellent burgers (get the Shack burger for the extra .75 - the sauce and lettuce and tomato make it worth those pennies). They have incredible custard. I just had some pistachio that was to die for and I can't wait for peach to come back. The shakes are great - my favorite is strawberry and their concretes are very good, but my eyes are always bigger than my stomach and I can never finish it.

We waited on line for an hour, which was fine. We figured the hamburgers must really be exceptional for people to queue up like this. Unfortunately, I think all the hype keeps everyone from admitting that this is not a great burger. I enjoyed the flavor of the ground beef but it was dry. When I go out for a "good hamburger" I expect to see pink and when I'm done eating I should have to use several napkins to clean all the juices off of my hands. The strawberry milkshake was very enjoyable. If you have another favorite place for hamburgers, save yourself the trouble & just go there. A very disappointing experience.

Best burger, honestly, the meat is so fresh tasting, you can literally taste the salt, the pepper, and the quality meat, each element enhaces the others. The bun is so squishy and delicous. Everything is well proportioned, bun to meat to lettuce ratio. Its a bit pricey for such a small burger but absolutely tolerable. The frozen custard is also really delicous, its extremely dense and creamy, so if thats your thing, youll end up camping at the shake shack with the hoboes on the nearby benches. I love the park setting too, with the picnic table, benches and christmas lighting; its the perfect atmosphere for a sunday evening.

I discovered the shack last spring and has been hooked every since. The burgers are so good they are worth the long line wait :) I can not wait until it reopens.

I eat here at least once a week when they're open. I love these burgers-they're absolutely amazing! They are on the small side though, so get fries and a shake if you're real hungry. As far as the line, yes it is very long sometimes. Just check out the "Shack Cam" on their website before you go. I've never waited more than 10 minutes since discovering it.

It's not bad, especially the bun and the toppings but the burgers are kinda small and not amazing or anything. Just average.
