    No Home Delivery?!

This is NYC. This is the UWS and I am sorry that you are so popular that you think you cannot hire a few extra souls to help deliver burgers to busy families, but come on: GET HOME DELIVERY GOING! Otherwise: Great Burgers and Custards to die for!

    Good.. but I've had better...

I've only been here once since it opened... and it was good.. but I seriously don't understand the hype. My burger was very tasty.. the fries were ok... nothing great. The shake was yummy. Overall, my meal was good. I guess I was just expecting more. All I've heard is how this is the best burger ever. It was good.. but I've had better. It is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. I noticed some people commented on it being overpriced. I actually think it's reasonable. You'll pay the same amount for a sandwich at Lenny's (local deli) as you will for a burger and fries here.

    As Good As The Original

My wife and I have been to the new Shake Shack twice since it opened. We were super excited when we found out we were getting a Shake Shack in our neighborhood...and we have not been disappointed. Do not believe these other ridiculous reviews of people whining and nitpicking. While the lines are a bit long (expect them to get longer as people find out), it moves relatively quickly and the employees could not be nicer. The burgers and shakes are just as good as the MSP location (minus the 45 minute wait), and the space is excellent. The worst part: the annoying clientele...some of whom apparently have left their negative reviews on MenuPages. People just stand by the serving window, chatting it up, and whining about their their burgers not being ready immediately after ordering. Let the rest of us who appreciate an excellent burger enjoy a truly enjoyable and delicious meal. Thank you Shake Shack! It'll be hard to stay away now that you're within 5 blocks of my apartment!!

    Overcooked

I agree with several of the reviewers below who had overcooked burgers. Mine was cooked to well-done, despite the menu's claim that burgers are cooked to medium unless otherwise requested. Though still somewhat juicy, the well-done shack burger just doesn't have the same meaty taste that a properly cooked burger should have. I've had the madison square park burger (medium) and it was excellent. The overcooked burger on the UWS is average at best, and most certainly overrated.

    Disappointed

I went to SS on a Friday night when I walked by and noticed there was no line out the door. Service was a bit slow, but not as painfully and unacceptably slow as it often is. SS's menu states that their burgers are cooked medium unless requested otherwise. I ordered three - all were cooked well done. This left the hamburger largely drained of flavor. The buns added a nice flavor and texture to the food, but the failure to cook the meat properly was a big disappointment. I mean, really guys - you cook one thing - hamburgers. It's not asking too much to know how to cook the burger medium. I also got the fries. They were pretty bad: dry, insufficiently salted and little to no potato taste. I also got a shake and it was good. But then again, I don't think I've ever had a bad milkshake, so the bar wasn't set too high. SS isn't quite the emperor's clothes, but it ain't worth the considerable praise it gets, either.

    Most Overrated Hamburger. Ever!

I have never given a bad review, but I could not help myself. I just came home and had to do it. Three thumbs down. No question. Most overrated burger. Ever. I once ate a burger at a White Castle and I thought nothing could be worse. But here we go. 25 years later and the Shake Shack burger was the worst burger I ever ate. McDonald and burger King burgers are soooooo much better. This Shake Shack burger has no taste, is tiny, condiments nonexistent, bread stale and soft and no taste. Nobody, really nobody should go there. And let's not talk about the price. It make me really angry.

    Yuppie

This place was a complete bust for me and represents everything I dislike about yuppie food spots. The actual food(I got the shack burger) was pretty good, def decsent greasy food. Here is where everything goes wrong, the burger is very very small and it cost like $5! The prices are absurd for the amount of food you get and the thing is although it is fairly good food its not like its unique or different from anyother burger joint. Nothing about the menu is new or inovative, its just a burger joint. The only positive thing about the place is that the location and atmoshpere is awsome, excellent seating, chill and clean, very nice. But who cares about that if you spend 12 bucks on burger type food and are barely filled. This place is great for yuppies who want to take their kids to a burger/fry place after school. Too expensive, nothing different about food and odd beepers that ring when your food is ready.
