Simple things could make this a lot better
I live a block away from Shake Shack and generally like their food. I don't mind the lines and agree the vibe of the place is pretty cool. It's expensive for what you get, but even that is something I can overlook. That all said, I'm consistently disappointed in two things: (1) the slow, lazy service I seem to get when I visit and (2) the inability of the staff to provide frozen custard, or any type of frozen dessert, rather than ice cream soup. With regard to the service, several of the cashiers seem to treat their jobs more like a social hour than a work environment, which causes unnecessary waiting and repeating orders. It takes excessively long to get a sample of the custard of the day. I don't understand what takes so long to grab a teaspoon of custard. There also seems to be confusion over "to stay" or "to go", and packaging an order to go seems to require multiple trips to the back for various size bags, lids, boxes and so forth. On the melted ice cream, I don't know what the issue is. Perhaps the machines aren't freezing the ice cream enough. Perhaps my ice cream order gets prepared and then sits in the hot kitchen long enough to melt before it gets to me. Perhaps the staff can't keep up with ice cream production enough to get it really frozen before they start dishing it out. I don't know, but it's annoying to pay $4 for a sticky mess that you basically need a straw to eat. Shake Shack does such a good, organized job of so many things. I don't get why simple stuff like this gets overlooked. The issues I highlight have been a problem for this location for at least the last 2 years. After enduring it all again tonight, I decided to submit this review in the hope that someone at the Shack will read it and make the necessary changes.

A damn good burger
This is a tasty little burger for people trying to watch their portion size but still want delicious flavor. Sometimes I'm in the mood for a gourmet burger topped with an egg or avocado or gruyere cheese but when I want cheap, satisfying, and simple- this is my go to place. Not only are the burgers moist and tender but the shack sauce is also a great, tangy addition. The single burger is definitely tiny but my fiance and I usually split the shack-cago dog also, which is refreshing and light. I don't love the line or the seating situation but they're worth it when you have a craving for this food, which we often do.

shake shack is wack!
This place is highly overrated and over priced. Small burgers and just ok fries do not make up for the long wait and lack of seating at this location. very disappointed!

High fiber
I totally agree with other reviewers: this place serves a pretty good burger, for a great price, and the atmosphere is upbeat. It's like going to a party where everyone is having a good time. The wait? I take a book and chill out until my buzzer shakes. There is, however, one thing about the take out burger that may shake up some people...the wax paper it's wrapped in has a way of melding with the bun. If your not careful, you can get a bite of paper/cheese/ burger. Hopefully the paper is organic. Because, believe me, separating the paper from the bun is no mean feat! Hey, doesn't bother me, but it puts my girlfriend into a frenzy. So skip the paper. Eat in! If you can find a table or don't mind eating on your feet.

I eat here once a week!
If you are looking for a simple and delicious burger, this is the place. The burgers are moist and perfect in size and the fries are cooked to a crispy perfection. I have never had a burger that was overcooked. Anyone that complains is simply hard to please. The only possible thing to complain about is the wait and seating but that's only because it is really that good!
