A bit snooty
I tried this restaurant for the first time a few weeks ago. My friend and I both ordered salmon teriyaki, which was very good. The service was good, but the maitre d' was a bit snooty. Perhaps we did not quite measure up to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

Neighborhood Favorite
We love this place. Really great quality shabu shabu. Very attentive service. Mediocre atmosphere but you come here for the food, not the surroundings. Yum!!

Very Good
Excellent Food. Very Poor service. My waiter dropped my glass and never offered to replace it. Also dropped some sauce on my guest and never apologized. I was the host and didn't want to make a scene, but it ruined my evening.

The best sushi I've ever had.
This place summed up good dining in NYC. Great atmosphere, well stocked bar and amazing sushi. Can't wait to go back.

Living the life
There's no business like show business! Shabu Shabu is the Japanese expression that in english tranlates into Brad Pitt. And this place is good enough for him, cause I just had dinner there, and he was sitting two tables down from me, with his wife, Angelina. It was awesome! I usually never do this, but I worked up the nerve to go over to their table. They ordered the Udon noodles and sashimi plate. I told them they should try the Shabu Shabu. They were very nice and said that they eat that all the time in Japan! Imagine that? It must be so nice to jet off to japan and get some shabu shabu at the source. It would be like drinking water while in maine right from the poland spring!

Service and food are outstanding!
Shabu shabu isn't just delicious food, it's also friendly and attentive wait and house staff. The food is amazing and a wonderful treat on the upper east side. I recommend the scallop app and getting the traditional shabu shabu! You won't be disappointed.

absolutely fantastic
this is by far the best japanese restaurant i have ever been to as i've traveled the U.S., everytime i visit NY i always insist on going there. the place is moderately sized, with a great staff, nice quiet atmoshpere, and great food. even it's appearence when you receive it, is nice. nothing messy but rather nicely put together to come out looking tantalizing! i highly reccommend it.
