We anticipated a great meal, based upon what we were told by my sister, but overall our experience was disappointing. We had two appetizers one was great, the other mediocre. Our pasta dish was good, but not great, and our main course, basically a rather ordinaray roasted chicken, was fair. The half-chicken was very small. This is an expensive restaurant and not worth the price.

we had lunch here yesterday and I must tell you that the pastas that they serve are delicious!! I ordered the cavatelli and my girlfriend had this pasta dish with strawberries and my aunt had the gnocchi with springpeas puree sauce. good to the last bite. I highly recommend and I SHALL RETURN!!!

My husband and I went to Sfoglia for the first time last night and the entire experience was wonderful. The ambience was relaxed and warm the wait staff was professional, yet friendly and the food...well, the food was exceptional! All the ingredients were so fresh and vibrant. The quality of the ingredients justify the prices which frankly I don't feel are that high. Anyone who truly loves food will enjoy their experience here.

I must admit, after dining at Sfoglia last evening, that many of this restaurant's naysayers must have eaten at a different restaurant than we did. We are a group of four people who meet for dinner about twice a year. Other restaurants we have visited are Babbo, Blue Hill and Picholine. Hands down, to a person, Sfoglia was our favorite. We had eleven dishes over four courses and shared each of them. No dish was less than great and several were outstanding. If you get a chance to try the crab rotolo or the tuna pasta - take it! The freshly baked tart, date and rice pudding. The house baked red wine crackers with the cheese plate. The mussels, ah the mussels. That chicken. Lastly, the bread; poetry should be written to this bread. This is amazing food, obviously cooked by people who love food as much as I do. We thought the portions were ample. Also, the prices were completly in line with the quality if the ingredients. Now to the service. Wonderful as well. Water poured by the owner of the restaurant, willing to take time out to dicuss her business with you. A second server as schooled in wine and food as the waiter. This place is special. No pretension, just a great restaurant. Rush here and take the time to enjoy your good luck when you sit down to eat.

I have been dying to go here ever since I moved past 86th St. It took about 6 weeks to get a 6:30pm reservation on a Tuesday night (so plan ahead). I loved the staff and the atmosphere - adorable! The food was definitely tasty but not amazing and the menu is a little fussy. The prices were also very expensive. I would go back but I can't say I'll be in much of a hurray.
