On entering the restauranct, a bad start with a very snippym hostess. Food was OK, but expensive and over rated. The dipping oil smelled like it was old and it was also used on the dish of beets. The deserts were good, but also expensive. Will not be a patron of this restaurant any time soon.

Had heard great things, but it was not an enjoyable evening. Food was ok, but not amazing. Prices were ridiculous. The restaurant seemed to be trying to impress people with the prices, instead of with the food. Hooray for them! But I'll never be back.

not worth the wait. food: small portions and over priced, service with an attitude and ambience much to be desired.

$26 chicken served with no starch or vegetable- you have to order it as a side dish. server was abrupt/unfriendly- pushing side dishes, salads to compliment the chicken which was served solo. salad of green for $7 was so salty that it had to be returned. server offered no apology/ asked if we wanted another salad. server was intent on selling side dishes, extra salads and not showing any interest in how are meal was. comment by another diner was-"the server was not very polite". The food is good, just too pricey for quantity and unfriendly service. It is too bad!

I was utterly disappointed and underwelmed by this restaurant. We waited over 35 minutes despite a reservation. Once seated we realized we were by far the youngest in the entire restaurant (We just turned 40). We sat on old uncomfortable chairs and were served on splinter filled wood tables where food crumbs can be seen festering in the cracks of the table. The food was bland and overcooked and unimaginative. The waitstaff were average. I will not visit this restaurant anytime in the future and hope they move to a town/location in the suburbs where they belong.

Good food and lovely ambience but very over priced for what you get. The cheese platter was a highlight but the wine by the glass was expensive and not very impressive.

Had heard great things about Sfoglia but was very disappointed by the high prices and extremely average food. Sure this is Carnegie Hill, but $30 for basic pasta dishes (none of which are whole wheat, by the way) in not-overly-generous portions? Give me a break! Also, their no side dishes rule is absurd. I ordered a $32 branzino fillet that came with a piddly, tablespoon-sized smearing of creamed fennel. I was given the option of ordering a small plate of vegetables for an extra $10, but passed. The bread they serve is divine but that's about the only standout here. I'm fine with paying $30 for a meal (or much more than that), but the food has to be mindblowing. Not so at Sfoglia!
