I have had dinner here a few times now and each time just gets better and better. The pizzas are absolutely amazing! One of my favorites in all of NYC.

What a find! I have lived in NYC my whole life,and I was invited to a graduation at Columbia University,and we ate at Sezz Medi. If you are lucky enough to go there, you must try their pizza ,any kind is a treat! We had these awesome mussels with a broth of corn and tomatoes, and. We had to get extra bread to sponge up the sauce ! The salad with butternut squash and mushroomst is delicious. You must save room for dessert,and try the Sezz chocolate cake. It was so good, that i had to order a slice to go !

My husband and I are foodies (me professionally) and we regularly take the 1 train up to Morningside Heights for our pizza fix. The crust is so alive and fresh and the perfect combination of crisp and chewy -- though it is true that the very middle of the pie can be a bit soggy, it's plenty big enough that I know I'm not going to finish it anyway so I skip the very middle. Other great picks: salads, the baked eggplant side, great corkage policy... Don't go at prime time if you are in a hurry as the waiters can get overwhelmed sometimes. And, when they are busy the back room is not my favorite place. And definitely don't go if you are looking for the safe cookie-cutter pizza you find at the corner bodega. Do go if you are looking to remember the little pizzeria you stumbled on in Rome. One thing you wouldn't find in Italy: crayons for kids of all ages at each table, so this is also a great place to bring your young 'un.

I totally disagree with the last person's review,because my friends and I had one of the best meals ever at Sezz Medi. We too sat in the back dining room,and it was fine. The pizza was delicious. We had pizza with mushrooms and salami,and it was amazing! My friend had the salad with endive and walnuts,that is to die for. We also split the mussles with the corn and spicy tomatoes,and it was so delicious, that we asked the waiter for more bread to keep dipping it in the tomato broth! For dessert we had the famous Sezz chocolate cake,which should not be missed! All in all Sezz Medi is the best restaurant around!

Were seated in the back room, which has no atmosphere, hence the atmosphere rating. My pizza (bacon, mushroom, cheese) came out with raw bacon and no mushrooms. Sent it back. Came out with mushrooms but totally raw bacon once more. Took the bacon off annd ate some of the rest, as friends we already waiting for my food to come out. I told the waiter to give the bacon to the chef and ask if he would eat it. No apology or repsonse from the waiter, who obvously didin't care one way or the other. My wife's pizza was also undercooked. It was a total wate of money. Go elsewhere if you can.

Ever since I moved to the Upper West Side, this restaurant has always been a reliable source of great meals. The pizza is delicious and all the other food always delivers. Great for any kind of meal, Sezz Medi is an essential to this neighborhood that I'd recommend to any New Yorker searching for good, authentic and well priced Italian food.

I'm currently a senior at Columbia and I've been coming here for a couple of years now, and I have to say that this is may just be my favorite restaurant in the city. The food is just terrific, I rarely leave unsatisfied. Initially I was drawn in by the rumors around campus about the pizza being the best in the area, and I was a bit skeptical about the hype but I must say; it's really something else. The pizza is always a treat, however recently I've been coming more for the burgers and risotto. If you are ever in the area, do not pass up the opportunity to eat here, always a fantastic eating experience.
