A cousin visited me from out of state and we needed to stay close to Penn Station while we had lunch with another cousin. At such occasions I look for an environment which allows conversation, delicious food and wonderful service, in that order. Seven hit the perfection mark on every objective. It was so comfortable and the service was absolutely a 5+. The staff catered to our every need and concern. At first I thought we might need to change the table, and worried about it, but no problem. Whatever we wanted and whenever we wanted it - they were there to make sure we were satisfied. The food was so delicious and satisfying that one of my cousins repeatedly said she felt unhappy that she had not given her compliments to the cook before we left because the fish she ordered was so above par - and she's a real "foodie" - so - I set her compliments here for all to see. (I hope the cook gets to learn of it too.) Whenever I go to a really good restaurant I order a hamburger - as that's my favorite thing. I need to say that if you're like me - then go for it!! The meat is wonderful and so is the mashed potato! We sat for hours and hours. The coffee was sooo good. We don't do dessert but everything from soup to coffee was wonderful and at the end we all had been able to catch up - laugh a lot - and had the perfect place with the perfect food and the perfect service for a really special time together. I highly, highly recommend Seven!

    Love, Love, Love

While planning a 30th birthday trip with my BFF, I found Seven online to be the peak of our dining in NYC experience. I loved, loved, loved every minute of our experience and will dine here every time I'm in NYC!

    A Sensational Seven!

Whenever I have out of town guests or have clients to entertain we head to Seven. The food has always proven to be delicious! The utive chef puts together a menu that is truly satisying and appeals to many diverse palates. Seven is a gem in the West 30s as there are really no nicer restaurants with an upscale vibe-Seven's ambience is very conducive to setting the tone for a relaxing evening. Seven continually tempts the tastebuds and I never hesitate to recommend it to friends.

    Seven-th Heaven!

Seven has it all: a convenient location (close to Penn Station), a warm & welcoming atmosphere with a lot of positive energy (especially the pre-show crowd!), and a diverse creative menu. It is the first place that comes to mind if I am going to the Garden and want to have a sit-down enjoyable meal before the show, when I am meeting friends that live in multiple destinations outside the city, and/or if I am dining with someone picky with high demands. I recommend Seven all the time to friends/colleagues and it has never let me down. I've even been to a private surprise party in the upstairs dining room and it was executed flawlessly - and deliciously!

Where is Gordon Ramsay when you need him

I went to dinner with my dad- you know, a nice night out, a break from pasta. The menu looked nice and it was near work. It was very crowded at 6, full of business people- looked like a fun happy hour. We went upstairs to a nice dining area, and sat down right away with reservations. But then it went down hill from there. I got the risotto, which was a bit too al dente for me, and I'm pretty sure it had cream in it. My dad had a crazy green crab/shrimp concoction that he liked as long as he didn't look at it. Then the main courses came: Chicken and Trout. The chicken was bland, and sat on top of some soggy "stuffing". My trout had skin and a tail, which was fine, but I was afraid of eating a bone. But it tasted like nothing, and the squash had absolutely NO seasoning. I didn't want to pay $30 for it, so I returned it (something I NEVER do) and tried the steak. At least they were nice about that. But the steak-eh. They cooked it the way I asked, but it was nothing special- the creamed spinach tasted bad, but the fries were good. All in all, I just wish Gordon Ramsay would go in there and give them a clue.
