A friend and I were in NYC two weeks ago and visited Serendipity 3 for lunch. On arrival we were seated immediately upstairs. The Christmas decorations were still up and everything looked so beautiful. I ordered the Young Chicken Sandwich which was the nicest sandwich I have ever had. My friend had a burger and chips and she loved it. For desert we asked our waiter for a recommendation. He suggested the Forbidden Broadway Sundae so we went for that. It was amazing. It was so massive that it would do 2-3 people for a full meal. We couldn't even get through half of it! It wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be - $60 incl. tip for the two of us. Our waiter was so lovely, really friendly and very, very good at his job. Overall, it was a great experience and I would recommend Serendipity 3 to anyone. Next time I go to New York it will be at the top of my list to visit!

When we went over the holidays, there was a 6 hour wait to get in the door. The host took a break down the street and we asked him if it was worth the wait, he said "I wouldn't wait 6 hours or 3 hours or even 1 hour, go back to the hotel, get some ice cream, and kick up your feet. It's just not worth the hype." Cute restaurant, but perhaps if they are this popular they need to expand....

I went at about 1:00 in the morning (open to 3:00 am) and there was still a 45 minute wait. We ordered the famous frozen hot chocolate and a chocolate fudge sunday that was to die for and a plate of fries let me just say the hot chocolate is a waste of 1200 calories and the fries well lets just say there were pretty good.

The frozen hot chocolate is absolutely AMAZING! I have to get one every time I'm in NYC...

Ok, the frozen hot chocolate taste like Swiss Miss, blended with milk and ice with whip cream on top. Nothing special whatsoever. I think Oprah and the press get paid to promote this because it's nothing special. Get one of there other desserts. Cakes, Sundaes, Pies are actually way better! As for the food- it's pretty much regular lunch & dinner fare, though it's good but it's nothing special.Go only if you're in the neighborhood and it's dead (slow hours are between 2-4) and you wanna dessert or late lunch.

Yes, the wait was particularly long (over 1 hour). Once seated, my party of 3 was iced even more than the frozen hot chocolate. The a/c was unnecessarily cranked (nothing like conserving our resources, is there?) Twenty-five minutes later, WE had to call over a server to place our order! I highly recommend buying the Frozen Hot Chocolate Mix, take it home and follow the directions. It's much more enjoyable than the chaos called Serendipity!

Everything about it was amazing ... and they have the best frozen hot chocolate.
