    no good

As a NY native I'm sad to see such a great concept be so disappointing. The staff are a total buzz kill, a bummer, the worst debbie downers EVER. I tipped that miserable host and he still made us wait. The food is tasteless- but then again we were so turned off from the poor attitudes that we just didn't enjoy anything. To get your moneys worth- just take a peek inside and admire the decore- which is also over rated. Totally UN WORTHY!

    Worst wait and unpleasant host!

We waited 90 minutes, but the worst part is when we asked the host why there are so many empty tables not being seated, he immediately defended himself, " if you don't like it, you don't have to stay!" He is arrogant. I will not spend my money at this so so restaurant. There are plenty of other places in NYC.

great desserts, not so great service

My friends and I heard so many stories about this place, so I decided to check it out. That was my first time, and will be the last. 45-minutes wait was expected. Decor is cute. Desserts we ordered were worth the wait. Huge portion and very sweet, but sublime. But staff service was not worth the wait. One of the worst staff services I received in NY. We didn't even finish our desserts and waiters started giving us eyes and talking about us behind our backs, whispering "are they still here?" Yes, we could hear them. I guess that is one way of letting your customers know you want them gone. Finally the manager came to kick us out. We understand it was a busy hour and they had to move it along, but I also feel like they could have done it nicely, especially since I was a paying customer. I would have tipped generously if I received services worthy of a generous tip and had enjoyable time. Such a shame, since I really liked their desserts. But rudeness of some staffs turnd me off.

    Not what i expected

a group of my friends and i went during the holidays...and it was one of the most disappointing experiences! 1. we waited over an hour after the host told us we would have to wait 25minutes. 2. the place is so tight that you walk into other people's chairs and tables. 3. the food was average nothing amazing...but i will say this the frozen hot chocolate was tasty. i would recommend bringing children.

    Understand What Your In For...

You have to understand where your going, and what your in for. Invariable, when we get out of town guests, they'll want to go to S3. They read about online, saw the movie, saw it on TV... For everyone who complains about the waiting time and the host, I have one word for you TIP! I've gone to S3 in the middle of the holiday season at peak time and gotten seated in 15 min. That's not free folks. The better you tip, the better the seat, the better the service. This NYC after all, and if you want to check out this restaurant and get something special out of it, with good service, be real about what it's going to take. The food is always fresh, and good. The desserts are to die for. We've been here enough to know that it's a very enjoyable restaurant, but it's a victim of it's own success. You have to put up with some of that, and expect to be rushed in an out if your not going to be a little generous. It's a fun place, and it's worth a trip. Just make sure you get enjoy it.

    First time visit

My bf took me for my bday, my first time being there, he has been there multiple times beforehand. I don't know why anyone wouldn't expect to wait for this place.. it's famous and in NYC! Luckily enough, we went on a wednesday night, and there was not a wait to get in. I ordered a pasta dish with veggies, and I thought it was excellent! Slightly overpriced for the amount you got, but still good, none the less. The frozen hot chocolate was amazing.. I wish I could have finished it, but I was stuffed from dinner. Service was okay. I will not say it was horrible, because I've experienced horrible service, and this was not even close. I will definately be going there again!! If you don't want to have to wait, then don't bother going!

    Not kid friendly

We went hear after eading about it in Time Out Kids guide. We have a two year old son and are always looking for places that he might enjoy. Well to start with they don't have high chairs....it took for ever to get served and I had the most disappointing Veggie burger I have ever had. Will not be going back with or without kids.
