Serendipity has the best desserts, along with the prettiest store. It is so vintage and fun. The downstairs is adorable. It is a must if you are visiting New York City! The Frozen Hot Chocolate is great! And DON'T forget to buy the mix downstairs so you can have Frozen Hot Chocolate whenever you want!

You have to know what to order here. Nothing fancy. Some things that cost less on the menu have larger portions. My two biggest reccomendations are the hamburgers (which come with fries) and the chicken pot pie. For dessert you should get a sundae or a frozen hot chocolate (everything there is huge so you better share). Overall the food is pretty good. It's a little crowded but the atmoshere is very cool. It's been around for a long while. The prices are a little steep, but so is everything in NYC so you better get used to it. Overall one of my favorite restaurants in NYC.

The FHC was awesome! We also had a sunday with the best fudge sauce I've ever had! Long wait times though and a bit expensive, but amazing desserts!

We had a 2 pm reservation. Walked right in with out a wait....but waited 20 minutes for a menu! The service was absolutely terrible! When we ordered chicken, the waiter warned us that it would take 25 minutes to prepare. He was wrong. It took 40 minutes te get our food. When we asked for another soda, the waiter warned us that refills are not free and we would be charged for another soda. We said that was fine....then he never brought more soda. The "famous" frozen hot chocolate was nothing more than chocolate milk and ice prepared in a blender. Two hours in this resturant was a disappointment and a waist of our precious time in NYC!

Okay I'll start from the begginning....the doorman must have been having a really bad night. We had to wait an hour and 45 minutes, when we went in it was really tiny and cramped which i guess is normal in NYC but it was kind of uncomfortable. There is a $6.50 per person minimum, although you can't find much on the menu for less than that anyway. We started with the Frozen Hot Chocolate since that is what prompted us to go in the first place. Honestly I am a chocolate phene, a true chocoholic and the FHC was not all it is chalked up to be. I wish I had been able to taste the peanut butter one or maybe one of the fruit drinks because it might have made me feel better about this place. Okay My friends had a pasta dish that tasted allright but was a really small portion for the price. I had a sandwich that was so-so. The sandwiches don't come with anything, no sides at all. The wait staff was really nice and very helpful, while the host and doorman were pretty rough around the edges. Don't believe all the hype about this place. It's not that great, if you have some time to kill then sure try it, but I would say spend your time and money on something a little more promising than serendipity 3.

We tried to have dessert here one evening at about 9:30PM. The wait was two hours so we passed. We returned at about 5:30PM the next day and waited only 30 minutes to be seated. We ended up having dinner and dessert. The Chicken Pot Pie was excellent as was the Frozen Hot Chocolate. Service was pretty good considering how crowded and busy this place is. Kudos to the guy doing the seating for addressing some woman who wanted to be moved ahead of everyone else because her daughter was on crutches. He offered a chair but that wasn't good enough. She wanted to go to the head of the line which would have caused a riot!

Yes, the prices can be steep, but it is a tourist attraction. You?re going to get that at any tourist place you go. I love the atmosphere, it is quirky and fun. If you go on a Friday or Saturday evening, you will wait a long time to be seated and served, but if you go in the morning when it first opens, it doesn?t take long at all. The wiaters are charismatic and kind. And the frrrrozen hot chocolate is delicious! I?ve been there quite a few times and I still love it.
