I had made reservations in advance, so when we arrived we were seated right away. Very comfy casual atmosphere. Food and service were great. Everyone, including seating host, was pleasant. The Frrrrrozen hot chocolate and Broadway Sundae were absolutely dreamy and to die for! Can't wait to go back again! I would recommend to everyone!

Having booked ahead we got to skip the queue, which was very satisfying. The food was delicious, especially the homestyle chilli, frozen hot chocolate, and puddings, and the restaurant was buzzing with a lively atmosphere. service was efficient and nice, but if we hadn't pre booked the wait would have been horrendous. Highly recommended, and living up to its reputation.

We arrived at the restaurant last night about 9pm excited to try the frozen hot chocolate. The person taking reservations was rude. He was labored to answer any questions for us out of towners. After waiting 1/2 hour I decided to purchase some gifts. Even the cashier was so apathetic she could barely put the items in a bag and was more interested in other things. Then the reservations guy said couldn't shop until after our meal even though it would be close to closing. We have no problem waiting in a queue inside the shop but did they have to make the wait so unpleasant? Management should consider hiring professionals to wait on paying customers. Perhaps if staff was even a little courteous this review would not even appear here. Don't go here unless you have a reservation ( made over a month in advance) or there is a very short wait. Staff can't handle too many customers.

My friends and I arrived at Serendipity's around 1 am on a Friday morning, and the wait was 45 minutes, which didn't seem so bad since hanging out in the rain in New York is just part of the experience. Once we got in the energy of the restaurant was booming, the waiter was a lot of fun, and the frozen hot chocolate was worth the 500 calories. Everyone seemed drunk on chocolate and having simply a wonderful time. The whole point of coming to New York is to enjoy yourself and Serendipity's just enhanced the moment!

After hearing about this restaurant on Oprah we thought we should check it out. We had a 45 minute wait for lunch and we were very disappointed . The menu sounded great but it really lacked in presentation - a slanted table top didn't help and our table was in an open corner at the top of the stairs. Yes it is an interesting place but I wouldn't rush back and the Frozen Hot chocolate wasn't that great . A little too much hype ...

You sure will find me on the East side more often now. What a quant, adorable and warm place. We only waited 15 minutes for a table and were able to look around in the store while we waited. The dessert was heaven in a jar! And there were so many to choose from with the most delightful names. I had the frozen hot chocolate - YUMMY! You just have to go, its adorable and delicious!
