Watch your plate!
Just in NYC for an evening from out of town. Ate here with 3 family members before a concert at the Beacon. It was buzzing and noisy on a Friday night. Food was very good, service acceptable. My dish was wonderful--it was a special so don't know the name of it b/c I couldn't understand the waiter...he named off 2 specials and I heard pasta and mushrooms so I said, "I'll have that one." Everyone enjoyed their meal. Toward the end of the meal we were talking about something and I diverted my attention to my phone to look something up we were talking about. When I turned back, my unfinished pasta plate was gone! I still had about 1/4 of it to eat. That made me mad. Also, we failed to notice that the gratuity was included (don't know why for a party of 4) but we stupidly added tips onto the charge slips so our waiter got a cool $50. tip which he probably didn't deserve. Live and learn. Food was good, though. I'd go back and get the same dish and hang on to my plate for dear life next time.

don't bother!
We were here for a light meal about 9pm.. warm night, casual atmosphere. Waiter attentive until realized we were only ordering basics, 2 meals, 1 appetizer, 1 beer and water. After that - couldn't be bothered with us. The calimari had no taste and was like chewing rubber bands - arrived in a basket and I thought at first they had mistakenly given me onion rings - so much batter! The pasta was undercooked and slightly cold. The waiter never ONCE came to see how our meal was - spent his time catering to those around us ordering 3 or more courses. We had to call the manager to get some attention. At that point he apologized and spoke to the waiter for 10 seconds or less. They said they would take the calamari off the bill but had to be reminded to do so. No more apologizes nothing - no attention. Once again - don't bother

Nice Place
Good restaurant whether you're going on a date, meeting with friends, or having a large family dinner. Food is good and not too expensive, and decor is pleasant. Positive experience overall.

Poor customer service.....especially at the bar
I had been to Serafina's at different locations and was excited when one opened up in my UWS neighborhood. On a Monday of Memorial Day weekend, I sat at the bar for dinner. The bartender was inattentive, couldn't be bothered and seemed harried, even though the restaurant was practically empty. I ordered a pizza and he tried to sell me the more expensive pizza. I asked for red pepper flakes, which took him forever. I asked for garlic and was told that the garlic was downstairs. I never got the garlic and after eating half of my pizza, I decided, I can go home and get my own garlic powder. At least the pizza was decent, even if I didn't get the more expensive one! Usually bar service in restaurants is is pretty good as you are right in front of the bartender This bartender couldn't be bothered with serving his own customers right in front to him. Poorest service I have ever had. With all the Italian restuarants on the UWS- I would skip this one!!

Great food and very kid friendly
Love lobster carpaccio and a handful of pastas - esp the one w chicken and cream sauce. It's a good meal at a place where u don't feel bad bringing the kids. I do avoid weekend crowds so service and wait has not been a problem.

Like a diner - never going there again...
My husband and I went here for the second time last night. First time was ok, but last night had to send back lasagna for being absolutely COLD. They clearly nuked it and brought it back to me. Vegetable lasagna tasted like spaghettios with little chunks of veggies clearly made days ago. No taste. My husband's pizza was bread with arugula and dried meat on top. No presentation and very little taste. No apology from anyone except server, but even him not really. Service is not up to caliber of this level of pricing. The weirdest thing was that the appetizer came out about 3 minutes after we ordered (fine) followed by the main course only around 1 minute later! Clearly there's some reheating going on and they make it so obvious! Not to mention it made me feel like someone was in a rush to get us out of there fast, when we were actually looking to take our time. This was clear when the waiter collected his tip before we even left! Poor service and poor food. Go around the corner or down the street for better Italian food and service! This is clearly a chain experience...
