Amazing pizza and pasta, other aspects just 'ok'
This place has incredible food. From the homemade pizza to the fresh bread and all of the pastas- you really cannot do better. I mean this, this is by far the best pizza and pasta on the UES. Everything is satisfying, high quality and delicious. Earlier this year they had a dessert on their menu that was supposed to come with thick warm vanilla sauce as per the menu. They gave me a piece of plain cake and when I asked for the sauce they said 'oh we don't have it now' with an uncaring attitude. They didn't even take time to change the menu for months. Other than this the food is AMAZING, the service is sometimes lacking or ambivalent and the tables are too close together unless you're on the top floor.

great
I honestly don't understand some of these reviews. Serafina always has reliably amazing and authentic Italian food. I reccomend it highly. And as for the service, I never had any problems but if anyone is a bit annoying, why care so much when you're enjoying amazing food?

Not recommended
The pizza is tasteless, the pasta not worth the money and the service is non-existant. The bathrooms need to be stocked with soap.

Great pizza
I went to Serafina a few times this past summer and had a great time. Highly recommend getting the bianca pizza. One of the best pizza's I've had. It was amazing.

Service is whatever... Food is GREAT
I have been living in NY for literally 20 plus years. Serafina has utterly amazing pizza, great salads, great breads, amazing capuccino... great pasta (really great). I think food is the most important part of the experience. I've had such sweet people wait on me only to have awful food put in front of me. They need to hire new waitstaff, they need to separate tables so you are not bumping elbows but the food is to die for. AMAZING food. I am craving it just thinking about it. I wonder if they ever read this and can consider new staff....

Joke
I went there one night with my girlfriend and the restaurant was half empty. Each table was on top of one another and when I asked if we could have a different table, the arrogant hostess scoffed at me and flat out said no. Living in New York for my whole life, I have come to expect excellence in all categories. Sadly, Serafina fails in every area. Strongly suggest all to avoid...

Serafina not so fine
During a visit to New York City with a group of 14, we went to Seraphina where we were provided with poor and rude service, adequate pizza (I’ve been to Italy and had ‘real Italian pizza’), charged for refills (we are not used to this and were not informed of the charge prior to ordering), and were overcharged on the bill (they brought the wrong drinks and charged us anyway). After a brief discussion, both the manager and waiter were uninterested in providing resolution and good customer service. We enjoyed several other dining places in New York and would NOT recommend Serafina. In my experience from Brennan’s in New Orleans to McDonalds in every state, I will be pleased to never return to Serafina.
