This Italian restaurant is a family style restaurant, which at the sam time it is so elegant. Perfect for a perfect date, minding the noise. It is so popular, which means you might have to wait. But it is so worth it. The food is put together perfectly, and is very satisfying. Cost wise, it is not bad at all, and the service for some things is poor and somethings great. No New Yorker has never been to Serafina. So bring your family there, your date etc. PERFECT!!

I'm mystified by the negative comments. My friends and I have been to Seraphina's many time before opera or after a show. We have never been disappointed with either the food or the service. We were there just last evening and had a delicious meal. I had the beet salad and then the filet mignon; one of my guests had the roasted pork chop (a special) and the third guest had the grilled vegetables as an appetizer and then the beet salad as a desert. We were, as usual, very pleased. They begin the meal with a wonderful bread selection and you can choose a delicious fruit roll, a sesame roll, or a cheese bread. Or you can have them all and ask for more. Service was attentive without being overbearing. I can't think of a negative thing to say.

Seated in the rear -- not impressed. Front was more like a cocktail hour which would have been just fine with me. Over-rated. Never again.

Used to be one of my favorite UES restaurants. Then my mother and I went for dinner and both ordered the red snapper. The waiter said he would have to check with the kitchen to see if they have it and returned to report that they did indeed have it. We were served the snapper and both were not feeling well the next day.

My daughters and I took our first trip to New York City last month. A friend from New York recommended this restaurant. We went on a Friday evening about 8:00 p.m. It was busy but we were able to get a table right away and were seated next to the window. It was great as we could "people watch". The food was very good and we did not have to wait long. I had the ravioli and it was really yummy. Between the four of us we ate every last bite. We were not impressed with our main waiter at all. When we asked about certain items on the menu he was negative about most and not very helpful. It also took him forever to give us our check when we were finished. On the other hand our water/bread waiter was awesome and very attentive. If I'm every in New York City again I will definitely return!

Well, I went to have dinner with my girlfriends and ended up having a magnificant time! The food was so delicious starting from the appetizers. I had tuna tartar, which the tuna was very fresh and yummy. We were initially presented with some oil and sour dough bread that sort of melted in my mouth. Very good combination!!! I had a fillet mignon med rare perfetly cooked accompanied by very organic vegetables. The severvice was great. Very attendful and proper. The dessert was delicious and a different taste to my palad. Over all the restaurant food was marvelous to and the atmosphere very refreshing!

I meet a friend here at 5:45 and the place was so busy you could hardly get in the door. We were seated quickly however the main hostess was rude and the others were confused. The service was poor, our waiter was clueless and absent most of the time and the table nest to use had the same problem, although they were very demanding. The atmosphere was nothing great, it looked worn, like it could use a fresh coat of paint and new chairs. A few less tables would help too so you are not eating dinner on top of four other people you don't know. Overall it was ok, I would not return.
