Our waiter was very rude - he actually argued defiantly over wine with my friend who just wrote a book on wines and is a very competent expert. I think the waiter actually said, "No, your wrong. That is not how it is done in New York." He was confrontational & cocky. When we complained to the management, they didn't seem to care as we would expext them to. Too bad the truffle oil risotto was so awesome!

Serafina has a pretty good reputation in New York as one of the better franchise Italian restaurants, but both times we have gone to this location, the service has been poor. The waitresses are condescending, and worse, they rushed us. No more than five minutes after giving us menus, our waitress came back and asked us if we were ready to order (menus were still open). The minute the runner brought our food out, she came over and asked how everything was. Beyond these two times she was absent. While not very expensive, the food was OK at best. If you are a fan of actual Italian food, this is not the place. However, presentation of the food was very nice.

Food was good but I guess little expensive. The service needs to be pruned as they even forgot my order once. Overall a nice place to try eating once.

I have eaten here twice. The first time (Dec. 2004) was excellent. The second (Feb. 2005) was not. Our waitress always forgot about us, so we were always asking for bread, water, utensils, etc. They also ran out of linguini and the apple dessert at 7pm on a Sunday night. Needless to say, I'm a bit disappointed, but I would still return because my first experience was so great.

I went here when it first opened. Maybe they hadn't worked out the kinks yet. I had the pasta with bolognese sauce. I asked for the fresh pasta with it. There was almost no meat in the sauce, and it was salty. The pasta was sticky.

Service was attentive and friendly but the food was overpriced and dissapointing. Very dry, thin, veal milanese was overcooked. Food very mediocre.

Nice place and very busy but not packed. The food was good, pizza thin italian style and pastas tasty. Staff really nice and attentive.
